Meh, God is not like us, not a mere human or even the form of one. Then again I am not christian, so I guess my idea of god would differ from your's.
And God did create lions, and he made them eat other animals, and how can you say that it's a bad thing that they do? he planned everything.

Alright, assuming your God exists, would he/she/it
really
be so condemning to damn his children he/she/it created and loves so much to burn in lakes of fire for waging war against each other in a form that doesn't actually physically hurt/kill some one else?
God doesn't have control over our lives, because He gave us free will. He wants us to choose Him not because He told us to, but because we want to. He doesn't want us to be like machines, were we do whatever He programs us to do.
Adam was the first human ever created, with Eve coming a little later. God told them that they could have anything in the Garden of Eden, except the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Satan hated God, because God cast him out of Heaven for refusing to follow Him. Satan tricked Eve by saying how the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil would make her as smart as God. Because of her free will, Eve ate the fruit, and later convinced Adam also take a bite out of the fruit.
Adam and Eve were sent out of the Garden of Eden for breaking God's only rule He set for them. Because of this, all their decedents are doomed to sin. The Bible says that "All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God". Since we have all sinned, we can no longer go to Heaven. But, because God sent Jesus, His only son, to pay for our sins, we can. Jesus died on the cross even though He had never sinned.
His hands were pierced by nails. He never did anything wrong with them. His feet were also nailed to the cross. He didn't ever go anywhere He wasn't supposed to. His head was adorned by a crown of thorns. He didn't ever have any bad thoughts. As He was dieing on the cross, He took all the sin of the world onto Himself, so that if we believe in Him, we may be saved, and allowed into Heaven. As He took His final breath, He cried out, "It is finished," meaning our dept to God was paid in full. ( The Bible says,"The wages of sin is death.")
Three days later, He rose from the dead, and appeared to all of his followers, to encourage them. Unfortunately for them, He had to go back to Heaven a few days later.
You were wrong so many times there I lost count :D :P.

I know. I'm on my second tour in Iraq right now. And it is the same feeling, that's why PVP is always a wierd experience for me. When I say it feels the same, I'm only talking about the intenetional killing of someone. I would feel bad if I got in a car accident and someone died.
to say that similiar feeling exist in a WoW PvP setting and an actual combat environment is flawed. when killing someone in real life you are filled with the sensation that your own life is in jeopardy. if you feel that same way during AV, you have bigger problems than god atm.
compare a fist fight to world PvP...
now a game of chess...
which one has a more similiar emotion to it?
o.O do you also have a purple heart for your lol PTSD? :/
USMC ftw actually

Mary is God's mother.
Mary is Jesus' mother.
Jesus = God.
I hate to break it to ya man, but Jesus is God's son.
Well actually Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are all the same people. You know, God the Son, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. Thay are all the same people, but at the same time they are three different people. That's why they are called the Holy Trinity. So technically Jesus = God.

I found so much of this confusing, kinda makes me glad I'm a Taoist.

There's been a distinct lack of representation from my side of the camp. And this is not bagging anyone of any religion, this is my opinion just like yours.
Atheism = win. There is no god so don't worry about it :P
And besides, I contend that we all are Atheists for this simple reason: I believe in one less god than you do, once you understand why you don't believe in all the other gods bar yours, you will understand why I don't believe in yours.
There's no need to be worried about this crap if you're a reasonable person with a proper open mind that isn't stuck in the 17th century of fear and superstition, but then again, we're still stuck in an era of fear and superstition =\ Look at all those terrible horoscopes everywhere, U.S. presidents have made decisions based on horoscopes (I'm looking at you Reagen, Kennedy, Ford...) and they are NOTHING different to the stuff that's put forward in the bible except that it's been made up last week instead of the last millennium or so.
Not to mention the amount of different accounts of a man like Jesus all walking around at the same time contradicting each other (yay discovery channel for it's unbiased views on these things :) )
If you didn't bother with any kind of god then this thread wouldn't be here, no one would be scared of going to hell and the crusades would never have happened which means the concept of Jihad wouldn't be around. Fix that one mr pope.
Also, just in case someone tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. I was raised up in a very (very very) christian environment. I left it because of the implausible nature of things that were getting shoved down my throat. Water into wine, walking on water, not to mention in the bible itself the 4 different gospels of jesus differ a lot ( and not just because of their different points of view, dates, times and places change seemingly at will)m the sermon on the mount was plagiarised from a prayer written about 300 years earlier etc.
/sigh, excuse my rant :( I don't mean to offend anyone, if I did, I apologize in advance. Everyone else got a say with their opinion :P

Any topic about religion is controversial full stop. It's a very volatile subject. For some stupid reason. And I notice it's only christians who actually spark up a flood of qq's about being discriminated against lol.
And No, I'm not going to spell christian with a capital C :P

Agree.
I don't like any religion that's over "god created the universe" subject,i'm a platonist, which in short words says that a god or a higher deity can't exist of you don't believe in it,and that's fair for me.
That's a cool view of Platony, but it kinda says that if you
did
believe in it it
would
exist. I for one
don't
believe that (any) god doesn't exist. I
know.
Seems that's the difference between Atheism and Platonism?
And the most ahrd out thing of all is that christians thrive on the fact that their faith makes god real, because without faith god is nothing. So arguing with any christian about the actual reality of god is completely pointless lol.
Once again this is
not
making fun of Christians, there are funner ways of it. This is my personal experience of how they (and I) used to work.

Not sure if I'm just stating what Shinshiva said, but simplified, but I don't believe in one specific god... I think there is something.. I just don't know what, but I suppose I'll find out, eh?

The flaw with your theory is that you can't really
know
until after you die. You can be 99.999999% certain, but you can't
know
.
