I have to admit though it's fascinating to listen to/read about christians discussing various aspects of their own religion and the bible. They can't argue with each other saying "it's what I think" but "in verse x the bible says..." because you need canonical evidence. It's a totally different form of arguing, so I am following this thread with interest. It also (amazingly enough) hasn't descended into a giant slugfest yet.
So yeah keep it up guys =)
For the overseer must be above reproach as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain, but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.
^ my favorite verse in the Bible.

The Buddhist remains impartial.
Actually, from the buddhist's point of view, having the thought and intention of killing is damaging enough. Damaging not in the sense that you will go to hell or be barred from heaven.
With the feelings of hate and violence in game, you could eventually let that manipulate you to be so in real life, and when you act on those feelings, the implication would be bad.
e.g. - you play the game, you get roflpawned in pvp, you get !@#$ed off, you see a loved one, and instead of being your nice usual self, you vent on them and end up causing pain and unhappiness. thats karma my friends.
That's why I don't PvP. :)

Has anyone noticed that this thread went WAY off topic? It went from "Do you believe killing in WoW is like killing in real life?" to your everyday religious arguement...
Heading back on topic, I don't think it's the same... you aren't taking a life at all, just a virtual character, and FACT: Virtual Characters =/= Living people.
At a few posts above, I can sort of understand how you think it's still an intent of killing, but it isn't really in my own opinion. You aren't killing someone, but their virtual character, their virtual character is the one you have the intent to kill. If the one behind the computer were to die when their character does, I would not attack them if I knew anything of it.
