I've never used MaxDPS much and taking another look just confirmed why.
They value SP about twice as much as hit for their default aff 'lock stats, that alone casts enough doubt for me to stop worrying about their gear choices.

agreed, maxdps is not a reliable source for this kind of thing. there's no magic in the background of these sites and no hooks into the game for correct numbers, it all comes down to one person's (the programmer) interpretation.
the numbers used are all very arbitrary and it's useful as long as each item corresponds correctly to all the others for each class. now, whether that site
actually does this
is arguable.
to take it a step further and compare how one class relates to another is definitely stretching their results too far.
i mean no insult but to take those numbers on such faith and complain about them here is a little naive.

Posting on the warlock forum and nit-picking over a joke in obvious bad taste... so uncalled for. As far as the meta socket, I hadn't considered the meta gem being a huge chunk of dps, which would make sense.
3% crit damage is huge.
PS: Maxdps is bad, stay away from it.
