I am going to ask that you update the entry Kara gear list.
I know that you mentioned that you can pick up some filler pvp gear... BUT.
There are a few pieces that will only get upgrades T5 on up. Such as :
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33918
Ring (note the veteran is very similar)
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33922
Neck
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33903
Belt
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33904
Bracers
and
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33905
Boots
All these are easily attainable via grinding a few weekends of Battlegrounds.
A few has some upgrades in T4 content.... but it will take you a LONG time to upgrade them.
The Gladiator pieces still follow the same guidelines as your guide...ie the replace as soon as possible... but still they are all very good starter pieces.
Especially when the next season gear rolls around: the guardian pieces... some of those .. well i dont even think that T5 will have upgrades.
(Note: I am still using the wrist/ ring / and neck listed above..)
edit: cant believe I forgot my sig...

Oh.. you might want to add Pally Power as an addon...

Just FYI, I've updated/altered some portions of the guide where my opinion has changed since I wrote it.
I've also fixed some things that made me go "What the hell was I smoking?" when I re-read them.

It's really sad that most gear tips are now kind of omitted due to PvP gear :(

I've hesitated to include PvP gear simply because PvP and PvE should remain relatively exclusive from one another.
I'll add in PvP alternatives, but I won't remove any primary PvE gear recommendations.
EDIT:
Also, if you'll notice I did make a note regarding PvP gear below the recommendation lists.

Dont do that.
here is an example:
T6:

S4 Gloves 1125 arena pts with no rating requirement:
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35060
the S4 gloves are arguably better than T6.... definitely worth the 4-5 weeks of losing in arena.
Edit... not arguably.. they ARE better.
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27457
vs
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=35060
a no-brainer.

As I said before: PvP and PvE are two completely different aspects of the game.
Would I discourage someone from using PvP gear if it is noticeably better than their PvE gear? Absolutely not. However, I'm not going to suggest PvP gear because many people don't enjoy PvP, and shouldn't feel like they have to have PvP gear to get into Heroics/KZ.
This is a guide for PvE Holy Paladins. The PvP section of my guide is very short and vague for a reason.
(And anyways, most paladins already know that PvP gear exists and that they can PvP for decent gear if they so choose.)

The only problem is that in this case (S4 gloves)
There are no better alternatives. (there are sidegrades... but not til endgame) And grinding arena can be looked at as easier than rep grinding. Much easier... all you have to do is die 10 times in a row.. takes 45 min tops. for a few weeks and voila!!! the best gloves in the game.
I would advocate that EVERY healadin needs to do this. (even those in T5/6

You're missing my point.
This guide was written specifically for PvE. My PvP section details what paladins can do, their strengths and weaknesses, but not how to play them in PvP. Yes, I will agree that paladins can PvP for their S4 gloves and get something that they will not replace for a long time.
However, if you're level 70 and are reading this guide to prepare yourself for Karazhan, you don't
need
to be told that you can get S4 gloves. If you know about them, chances are you're PvPing anyways. I'm not going to list S4 gloves as something you should get before KZ because it's simply not needed. You can get a fine pair of gauntlets from Attumen; not having S4 isn't going to break your game. The only reason I suggest PvP gloves at all is because there simply isn't a huge selection before Karazhan for plate healing gloves.
I'll quote from my post concerning Pre-Raid gear..
A note about the above gearlist, as well as PvP gear...
The above is a general outline. Chances are by the time you get to 70 you'll already have a decent healing set built, this is mostly just in case you were wondering some of the gear you might be looking for. Also, do bear in mind that while PvP gear is easily attained and has decent stats, it is definitely geared towards PvP and not PvE. With it, you won't necessarily have the staying power that a paladin in PvE gear would, and if you choose to go this route, replace your PvP gear with PvE
upgrades
ASAP through raid drops.
Obviously, if you have S4 gloves, you're not going to replace them with
Life Bearer's Gauntlets
because they come from PvE. Yes, you have the option of going for PvP gear, but I'm not going to say it's a necessity because it simply isn't. 20 +healing and 2% crit is not gamebreaking.
Does the two weeks you spent leveling to 70 include the quests? Or was it all grinding?
I don't think hitting 70 from 60 in two weeks is "Before you know it"-worthy.
Leveling Holy isn't fast. I leveled Holy.
As a result, I healed through BC instances (significantly harder than Pre-BC instances, and not just because of damage taken) and I learned how to control my healing output, how to use addons and my UI to my advantage, how to adapt to how much damage your tank is taking, etc.
If you want to level Ret/Prot, yeah, it'll probably edge out a little faster. But you run the risk of hitting 70 and having no clue what you're doing.

To put it simply...
You are wrong.
The S4 gloves are necessary. ... at least s2 if youd rather bg than arena As you put it... "2% crit and 20 healing isnt gamebreaking. "
No... but it is 20 healing 3% crit 30 stam and 10 int.
Yup... gamebreaking. hell, that is like having an additional armor slot.
Especially considering they will NEVER be replaced until WoTLK.
It is sad.. but you should .. nay NEED to pvp to do well as healadin in wow.
How hard is it to spend 1 hr a week in an arena to get the best gloves available?
And shoulders? where else are you going top get good gear?
Deny it all you want but pvp has the best starting gear for a lvl 70... much of that gear wont be replaced for a LONG time.
Advocating anything but getting that great gear is doing the new paladin a disservice.
