IAotH for your third glyph. Put a point in that talent. AotV is not the best glyph for Survival, you've got boatloads of crit and Thrill of the Hunt.
Prioritize shots in this order: Explosive, Aimed, Steady. When Lock and Load procs, try not to overwrite existing Explosive Shot DoT ticks: fire against different targets if possible, or try to find something else to use instead if you Explosive would overwrite a DoT tick.
Well I'll say that I did put a point in AS, so I can throw that in there, which I did last night. I'm liking the more dynamic nature of the build if nothing else.
Also something that's been bugging me since I started looking at Survival spec here, EJ and elsewhere is I always feel as though I want to put more points in Hunting Party. I'm trying to figure out why only 2 points... maybe 3? Meh?

Lets look at it.
Hunting Party
The percentage for it to happen goes up 20% every rank and it only happens on Arcane Explosive and Steady shots. We can auto-rule out arcane for survival because explosive shot is better than it. So, then, you have Steady and Explosive.
In 15 secs, you have a ton of chances to crit. Even if it is only xplo and steady, you will crit on lets say 5 of them in the 15 secs. It is most likely you will refresh the buff within the 15 secs. You can put in 3/5 just to make sure you have it up, but the recommened is 2/5 because in most raid situations there will be some other form of mana regen.

Here we go again! New conclusions made:
This
could be the next best build for ranged dps, raid spec. (Updated)
Best Glyphs used for this spec is
Improved Aspect of the Hawk
,
Serpent Sting
and
Steady Shot
. (not sure on this one)
Because of the new cooldown on Lock 'n Load, Resourcefullnes not usefull for a PvE build, but can still be usefull in a PvP build. Having multiple traps up can be quite good.
If i missed anything, please tell me. If you concluded something wrong, also tell me.
(Warning, I'm not one of the best SV hunters alive, so don't take this for granted)
Also, I have an opinion about SV Hunters regarding there pets. I always (and i still do) see SV Hunters as some kind of support class. That's why I took a wolf. The buff
Furious Howl
is raid wide, and for anyother hunter or melee class it gives a nice increase. You can also take an allround pet like a cat or raptor, but I like to be the one hunter in the guild with the special pet :D. (Don't go tell me that everybody takes cat's and raptors because they are way better in dps, because I know.)

Those glyphs are right, Eneder.
Forget Wolves, their Furious Howl doesn't stack with other static AP buffs (Battle Shout, Blessing of Might). Wouldn't you rather have something that actually contributes damage? Utility in pets is generally useless beyond cooldowns (CotW, RoS, RoR) because of existing better raid buffs, and those don't depend on family. What you care about is damage. Raptors seem to have the best damage so far. Survival could also get away with using a Cat if they wanted to, but only Survival.
For the record, I have gone and updated those parts of the sticky...
... But I want a wolf... sad face
Oke, should find something else. Raptor... maybe..
Checked the sticky, and you made a small mistake. Instead of all 16 points, you used only 15. I think you tried to make
this
. And I think 2 points in
Bloodthirsty
is a bit of a waste. It's a good talent, but I think 1 point in
Charge
will increase the damage output.
Also I checked out the cunning pets, and if you take a Ravanger, you can still do some damage with
this
spec. With
Roar of Recovery
it is quite usefull against some manadrainers.
But if your going for top dps, Raptor's are the way to go.

All Cunning pets are inherently worse than all Ferocity pets for PvE. But if you want to talk about mana burn then you're talking about PvP, a completely different can of worms, like you said. My recommendations were purely for PvE. Roar of Recovery is a drop in the bucket when it comes to mana; the extra 5% damage that Ferocity pets get, in conjunction with Rabid and Call of the Wild, makes Ferocity the no-brainer for raiding, and that's actually Blizzard's intention here.
Can you explain something to me. I'm don't know the expression 'the no-brainer'. So could you tell me what you mean with that?
Also, I indeed said that Raptor's are better, but Cunning pets are used to finish of an opponent, not to deal a steady flow of damage. In some instances Roar of Recovery can be very usefull. For example, there are some manatappers in the Nexus. Also, it will help out some huntards ;)
But indeed, if you conclude it all, it is best as a SV Hunter to take a Raptor, or in any case a Ferocity pet.
