I was looking up items and spells today when I came across a couple of instances where I would read something that was highly modded, and as I went down people would point out that something said wasn't relevant anymore because of changes in a patch or something. I think it would be helpful if there was another option when modding a post to flag it as outdated or something. I think all the points they got when their information was relevant shouldn't be messed with because they were earned correctly, I just think there should be a little warning somewhere that says that the information contained in the post is potentially outdated due to changes in a patch or something. I can't decide whether it should be hidden automatically or not, so hopefully one of you guys has a strong reason for it one way or the other. Either way, thanks for taking the time to read my suggestion.

We have discussed several points in order to solve this type of issue. The first one being to create a report system to let the moderators know of such out of date information, and therefore, perhaps, have a feature to hide the comment. This would allow such previously useful information to still be seen if desired, but not be deleted.
The report system is coming (sorry, no ETA). The later, however, isn't determined yet ;)

I will reiterate for the sake of it: reputation (and "points") mean
nothing
.
I would love a feature allowing a user to flag a comment as "outdated." I read
every single
new comment made on the site, every morning, and view a ton of random pages with a plethora of information. When someone points out that something has been changed, or if I come across data I know is no longer relevant, typically the comments are downrated for purging or straight out deleted. While this is never meant to be seen as an affront to users who once provided valuable information I can see how people would think such. Hopefully in the future purged/deleted comments will no longer show in user profiles.
It's not very easy to keep track of comment relevance and truth with the game's dynamic progression. Sometimes it's not so bad, such as when a user will reply "this is no longer..." or simply mention that something has been changed with a recent patch (it's even better when they source the change, too) but other times the information out there is never formerly addressed even though it may be out of date. Personally, I would love this sort of feature; great suggestion! :)
