Cause I wanted to learn a healing class and leveling a priest is insane.
That and Alamo as mentioned above. My druid's name: Treisforheels

I made my drood because i wanted to tank. I love thought of turning into a big ole bear and charging in to rumble.
My droods name is Sangral and he's pure worgen awesomeness!

I originally chose Druid because I wasn't for the life of me able to decide on a class.
I tried Priest, Hunter, Warrior, Shaman and got all to like level 10, and then my brother told me that I would have to stick to something if I wanted to progress, so I figured I'd go Druid, since I could supposedly do whatever I wanted.
I didn't know the stigma against bear tanks at the time in Vanilla, but I didn't care, I still loved tanking on my druid.
When Wrath came out I gave up the druid for a DK, and I have to say I don't really regret it.
Only thing I regret is leveling up a druid/DK instead of a Warlock. xD

For me it was in wotlk when i was playing my holy pala as "main" i joined a random heroic dungeon and a bear tank popped in.. I was amazaed of how good he was and how easy that dungeon went so i started leveling my druid straight after that run.. Havent had a regret so far!

First time i met with druid class in games was Baldur's Gate 2 then Diablo 2 LoD.. and my main char's become druid since then. i love the idea about being connected with the nature, the nature's wrath, rage vengeance etc. things with a class role, its awsome.
I always play with druid in rpg games even if druid calss doesn't exist i simply create one for example in Elder Scrolls series.

The shapeshifting was what reeled me in. I'm quite the altoholic though, so I guess you could say that the fact they are a class is also a reason. Originally though, I wanted to go Resto and stand around being a tree and all heal-y like. Unfortunately it is now a cooldown, but I've since discovered the love for jumping off of tall buildings and being able to safely shapeshift to Flight Form with no worries.
Also, something about HoT healing and throwing DoTs around. :p
