PVP Warlock - Blood Elf vs. Undead

Ok, first off, this is not a thread asking which is better, I've read plenty of threads on that subject already & I really don't want to start that argument up in here, so please refrain from getting into that in your responses.
That being said, here is my situation. I'm going to be returning to WoW after a period of absence to play with a couple friends of mine.
I have primarily played on pve servers in the past but my friend finally talked me into trying out a pvp server.
My original plan was to play as a Blood Elf warlock but as the time of my return draws nearer, I'm starting to question that decision on the grounds that this will be a pvp server & the Blood Elf racials seem to not do very well in a pvp environment (at least on a warlock).
The Undead racials seem to be much more pvp minded, however I'm not a fan of how the Undead look, I much prefer the Blood Elves in terms of appearance.
I'm of the opinion that its important for you to like how your character looks or you won't enjoy playing it.
Ok, now that you understand the context of my questions, here they are:
If I choose to go with a Blood Elf warlock over an Undead, will it make a truly significant difference in the long run given that i will be pvping a fair amount?
Is not having "will of the forsaken" going to hurt my ability to fight in pvp to such an extent that I should seriously reconsider my choice?
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide me with.

You already made your choice. If you like how your character looks then go with the BE. You're a lock, keep that in mind. PVP is not that serious for a lock. :P.

Honestly, I would say go with what you will enjoy dealing with day in and day out. I know I wouldn't be able to stand the sight of an Undead Warrior compared to a Tauren Warrior, as the gear looks like it barely even fits / sags on UD compared to Tauren (And the whole undead thing is not very appealling). For you, it's basically a decision between a rotting corpse with an OP Racial (WoTF) / being able to eat peeps (Humiliation tactic or viable HP restoration one) versus a pretty boy with an AoE Silence, slight all resists, and the whole "I'm still alive" bit going for him.
A lot of my friends on my PvP Realm swear by the UD for any and all classes bit, but I am disinclined to agree -- Sure, it's great to have an extra way out of fear / charm, but if you can't stand the sight of your own character when you play them for extended periods of time, that's when you should reconsider your decision and go with something that looks good to you. They're effectively both the same, just one has a fear/charm removal feature built-in & Cannibalize for hp regen / humiliation while the other has an AoE 2s silence (Situational, of course), mana tap, and some slight resists to all.

Ok, some of what has been said is helpful but a lot of this has gone back into the "which race is better?" section which is not what I'm asking here.
I'm going to try restating my question to see if I get a better result.
If I choose a Blood Elf over an Undead, will I still be able to pvp effectively & not somehow feel gimped?
Please, those of you who have played Blood Elf warlocks in pvp, lend me your experience.

"You're just mad cause Rogues own you
t(-_-t)"
ROLF.... I have a 66 rogue and have dropped some casters pretty fast. However I have had a few that have owned me if a stun lock has broken....
On the flip side I have a 50 lock. Same thing, I have been dropped pretty quickly but If I see a rogue coming I sick my pet on him before he stealths and the pet breaks his stealth then I kite away. If I get locked, I spam howl of terror then fear and kite. Even if they do get close again I just siphon life while they try to do dps. With Dots ticking they die fast.... :-)
Oh my lock is BE.... I am usually way up on the list for DPS and kills if not first for BG. However It would be nice to have WotF. But I never really get feared that often.... just occasionally.

Hi,
I have a 70 BE paladin and 70 Undead lock. I do arena alot.
The arcane torment can be very helpfull in arena 2 second silence is alot. In open world/BG's it doesn't have a big impact.
Will of the Forsaken a free trinket is really nice in the arena and in open world/bg's. Canablize a free pot but you have to kill a person first. If you would go for pvping and not looks go undead. A extra free trinket also time for you to do dmg or run away.
In short if you plan on world/bg pvping go BE.
If you wanne arena and get a top arena team go undead.
Hope that helps alittle in your decision.

I have a 70 BE warlock on a PvE server. Unlike you, I have to admit I didn't put any research into what would be the best race for my class. I don't know if it makes all that much difference. I cook so I always have more food than I can eat, which makes cannibalise fairly useless. I've used the insignia of the horde trinket to break cc in arena and bgs. The downside to that is the longer cooldown.
The frozen shadoweave still looks ugly, undead or BE xD
