sorry to tell you this the Frostmourne will NEVER be a loot dorp. it steals your soul and turn you into its slave and if someone did get it all we wouldand hear for the next 6 months is /2 I AM THE LICH KING WOOOOAHAHAH <Frostmourne><Frostmourne><Frostmourne>
I agree, I don't think Frostmourne should ever be a drop; but it is conceivable that Blizz will make out the plot somehow so that Frostmourne will have lost all its "power".
I hope not though, just shouldn't be done.
I think Frostmourne should somehow "break" and then you can receive shards of it, but unlike the other Staff
(forget the name)
you can't put them together.

I personally enjoyed your idea :-), very indepth and intense. However, no one can say how good or bad the encounter will be. The only change I would make is I would have Arthas slowly take back his body. Like at 10%, he has like 50% control over his body and Nerzhul comes out. For like half the duration of fighting Nerzhul, he is either attacking Nerzhul or the raid (hence, the 50/50 split). Then Arthas would either:
A) Break free and reclaim his entire body after defeating Nerzhul
B) To defeat Nerzhul, he sacrifices himself to do so, either leaving a very weak LK behind or just destroying his entire body and ending the encounter.
I think he should
almost
break free, but then Ner'zhul makes him go mad and then The Lich King runs into Northrend, a crazed & mental man.

well Frostmourne maybe a drop item cuz if you think about it you get lllidan's weapon's when you beat him so l'm sure some how Bizz will find a way to make Frostmourne a drop item cuz it will most likely lose its power after the Lich King dies or somthing who knows
Well the warglaives werent:
-
Cursed
-Epicly Powaful
-Wielded by the most powerful being on azeroth
not sure how theyd make that part though
it was cursed to begin with, so ya

Can I add something? How bout making a reference to the cinematic at the beginning of the game...Why not do something along the lines of HF Ramps...LK is mounted on a Frost Wyrm Flying around IC Citadel all throughout the raid Yelling things after time intervals, Yelling insults and so forth. Then to start the fight you fight the Frost Wyrm (without the LK mounted) kill him, and get a buff like Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer, improving dmg, and then you walk into a throne room...Lich King is seated at the back on the throne Frostmourne dug into the ground...Yells something to the Party. He stands up. Tank, maybe a warrior, does a charge which is countered with Death Grip and he stuns the tank. causes burst dmg to the tank, heals start but make sure they don't take aggro. then you bring in the original ideas from the first post.Maybe after DPS comes in he starts using something along the lines of pestilence but with more dmg and a curse. curse being a DoT, and I'm all out...try carry this on people...

Honestly, this is SO undetailed and theres so more to this storyline. And its Arthas ffs. You're going to be fighting an army of undead during the fight :P

First this is trying to be helpful criticism, not trolling. well thought out, but I'm not sure I like it too much.
its far to 'Disney' for being a wow plot. "oh he was really good inside and he saved us all". i mean as far as I understand it, arthas as we know him from before is completely dead, and nerzhul as well. there two former selves kind of agreed to this transformation. Also, Arthas went mad before becoming the lich king, and it is that mentality that is SHARED with nerzhul (to be clear it was the insane arthas, not good guy arthas that is now half of the lich king). the way the story unfolds in your version is more as if nerzhul has total influence over the lich king.
so yeah maybe he can regain his former self and save the world or whatever, but like i said its too much fluff.
Perhaps a slight variation would be that the fight between arthas and nerzhul is internalized, and the only way to end things is for arthas to kill himself, effectively killing the lich king as a whole. thats a little more brutal and more of warcrafts style. the martyr title was already taken by Grom anyway, and even that was orchestrated more dark.
also what about the other leaders and heroes of warcraft? do they not want to fight the lich king? I'm sure Garrosh is just waiting to step into icecrown and and end things himself. Org and SW got razed, so I'm sure Thall and Varian want to be there (Varian might be hesitant since they used to be friends). and lets not forget Saurfang, the lich king one shot his son pretty recently, and even though hes got a cool head, he might want to at least be there.
Tirion is good to brinfg to this fight, but he needs to be much more badass. its too much for me to see the ashbringer become corrupt and then cleansed all in one fight, and to also see just about the greatest paladin die, become a DK and die again in just one fight. him dieing and becoming a kind of DK is following too much to the footseps of most every other paladin, such as mograin. keep him alive throughout the fight imo, I see a long future with him past wrath.
And of course saurfang should get the killing blow (kidding). actually dont know who should kill the LK other than himself like previously stated. if not himself maybe that honor should go to Tirion (good for 'im the best pally ever' stance) or maybe Jaina should do it ( from the 'OMG i have to kill the one i loved" kind of view). Sylvanas would be okay too. but thats just a revenge killing and would have less impact story wise as to the death of the greatest villain on azeroth.
The mechanics of the fight seem solid, but i'de add a couple things to make it, well the hardest raid in the game. add some army of the dead to his casting (7-10 non elites, or at least low health elites), maybe some ice like cave-ins, and maybe instead of turning a player undead for a time, keep it that if players die, the lich king gains a lvl 83 undead elite. kind of encouragement to not to do something dumb and wipe the raid, as fewer deaths could result in one.
All this is just critisism and suggestions. don't take it to heart, nothing is meant to say your wrong or dumb, i just see it another way.

The best would be a cinematic that says "You have beaten World of Warcraft! Congratulations! Hard Mode unlocked!" Then your account resets the toon back to level 1 with a permanent debuff.
No cow level?
