even when playing with a good tank with a bit of (bad) luck it's possible to pull of tank as ffb mage
if you had a crit on last skill on previous mob and start next mob with a crit (which are huge as ffb) followed by a instant pyro crit it is not that hard to pull aggro especially if tank had low rage bc of a lot of dodges/parries etc.
though it's easily worked around.
when on my tank, when a dps keeps pulling threat even after i asked him to stop it bc he's doing something wrong aka attacking wrong mob/attacking b4 i did (you know when i pull with my gun, just to see the bullet being follow by a pom pyro or even better a mage pulling with pyro bc all big guilds do it that way <=not joking with this one) i'll put dps on ignore and not party him again.
if he attacks right target and after me, then i'll happily race him to see who can put out the most threat.

Mages can dish out some serious tps now with most mages have 150% crit bonus damage with 40% of that damage being dealt over the next 4 seconds.
Combined with instant cast pyroblasts, and the fact that most mages pop trinkets/cooldowns at the start of fights makes for huge tps in the first part of the fight.
For me, 1 frostfire bolt crit is about 10k threat on omen. Generating 3k tps for the first 30 seconds is really easy. However, mirror image deals with this, so threat should
never
be an issue for mages. Then just wipe threat with invis as MI wears away then go back to owning.
