Found this today, has a nice visual graph of how each stat affects DPS by spec:
http://www.locksucks.com/2009/03/gearing-based-on-talent-specialization/
Isn't this a little bit outdated Blightman since Destro got a fairly big buff in 3.1.2? When I mentioned it to the other Warlocks in my guilds, that was there first concern with it.
The exact DPS per point may be off but the overall profile's for each spec should still be fairly accurate. The profiles basically show exactly this for almost all specs
you generally want to stack stats in this order;
+hit (till capped) > +dmg > +haste > +crit > spirit.
Not saying I wouldn't like to find a updated chart but this one is still a pretty picture for those who can't read well.

ah *!@# - these last few posts remind me I HAVE to update this thread, its now a fraction outdated. I promise I'll do that ASAP.

double post...
That graph Blight is not accurate anymore. For example, It shows spirit as scaling best for desto locks, and worst for Demo locks. Its the opposite way around....

And you think that's bad; just wait until 3.2 hits and the gear gets split based on faction >.<
Shouldn't have too much impact, the stats are identical for either faction and we usually refer to tier gear as T8, etc. anyway.

No no, that wasn't from your information, that was from a discussion between me and you a little while back when I was trying to understand haste a little more.
And you think that's bad; just wait until 3.2 hits and the gear gets split based on faction >.<
Ah, well that explains why I couldn't find it in the OP.
Also, I've now updated the OP to be completely up to date. I've also removed some now unecessary comaprisons to TBC, and other useless info. Added a few new links. No major changes, just a general tidy up and error clear out.

firstly, i couldn't easily find what you were referring to with that post. who said that?
secondly, ISB was a communal thing back in tBC (giving +20% shadow damage) then it became personal thing (when whatever post you're talking about was made no doubt) then it became a crit debuff like the mage's improved scorch. as a debuff it is shared by all attackers.
thirdly, if you are referring to a comment from irharry's original post (and i just can't find what you're referring to) then:
Updated for 3.1.3
As of August 2009 this thread will not be updated. Another user is welcome to plagiarise any useful bits of this and repost it as appropriate
basically i have no idea why you made the above post.

So what's the pre-raiding SP benchmark?
Post by

no such thing and it's pretty much irrelevant given the gear progression in wrath. (lol "gear progression")
you hit 80 and start getting 232 gear. you can literally hit 80 and be in ICC before the end of the week. (i did it as recently as 2 weeks ago on a mage).

Wow... that bad eh?

well whether this is a good or bad state of affairs is up to you. i think it was a useful experiment but i hope blizzard doesn't entirely use the same model for cataclysm progression. i think there should still be a reason to run the naxx > ulduar equivalents.
