Melee are usually a lot less dumb about moving out of bad things than Casters as we've been dodging fire, cleaves and other bad %^&* since Molten Core.
Casters are the fat kids form school.
Always huffing puffing and complaining when they are told to run round the playing field, demanding to be excused from a bit of simple exercise, then blaming society for failing to notice the fire underneath them.
Prime Example: Casters having to move a bit on the Mimiron Laser Barrage whilst melee have to dodge. well, just about everything imaginable. Guess who $%^&*es and moans?
Thanks for the laughs. I must concur. (:

Melee classes can continue to deal damage when all casters are oom in long fights, as long as healer(s) have mana to heal the tank ^^
Beign a rogue is a good thing since you can find groups easily - for one reason: CC.But as a tank, I must say I like casters (in other words, rangers) more than I like melee classes in my groups.
Casters running out of mana? I don't think it'd be possible for me to run out of mana now. In WoTLK, ive never seen mana as an issue, only when you're a fresh 80. Oh, and Rogues don't CC anymore TBH.
Im just used to playing a spell caster, tried a DK and hated it. I like being away from the asction and just hitting bosses with my spells :D

I just hate staring at cast bars. But I also hate staring at a bosses feet all the time.
I'd go with ranged - but only as affl warlock (instant spells or short casts) or hunter (instant attacks and physical dps).
Melee is fun too occasionally, I especially like DKs there because of their unique rune mechanic.
However, generally I don't like dps that much. Tanking and healing both are much more fun imho.

My main's a paladin, and i tank/dps (at least i used to, now i'm more pvp specc'd) and my one 80 alt is a death knight that I use for dps. So i prefer melee.
I love dpsing with my rogue friend. I'm melee dps, he's melee dps. AoE happens. We run away.
I survive, he dies.

Depends on what you heal as XD I dig out my healing set once every month or so and heal a few heroics, then decide that Flash of Light spam is boring and go back to Prot/Ret.
But i know how you feel, 20 minutes into a heroic after repeating the same rotation over and over gets boring, when you have to keep the mobs on you and be on your toes for adds it's more fun.

For me it has to be melee.
My main is a fury warrior. I have a resto/ele shaman and a resto/boomkin druid. Seriously now...how the hell am I supposed to target things when they're all the bloody way over there?
No thanks. Imma get all up that nasty's grille and give it a good ol' fashioned headstompin'.

As a healer, I'm not altogether a fan of melee dps in my instance groups. DPS warriors offer only damage and rogues can sap but only when the mob is out of combat which is pointless if things get messy. They also bring no buffs and at times when mobs cast AoE, it's just another player who needs a heal else they'll die. Additionally, because they're so close to the mob, soon as they get agro, they're losing health meaning I have to change target to heal something else. A pain in the ass, if you ask me.
So much QQ, want attention and to be carried around much? Gods above, why the heck are you a healer?
Sap, yeah, big deal, I can do that. Also, I can take a hit enough and generate enough aggro fast enough to generally keep that raging whatever that just did an aggro reset from barreling past me on their way to you, the healer types so that the tank can regain aggro. Then there is cheap shot, kidney shot, blind and so on to keep things under control for a few moments. No, I don't have all the nifty crowd control that mages and some other caster types have, but then again, I don't get one shotted by trash mobs either.
If the rogues you run with only stand there while dishing out damage by the boat load, then you are seriously not seeing what versatility a rogue brings to the table. As for buffs and such, I carry a load of them, food, healing pots, make drums for nice occasions, and lastly, I almost always have a fish feast on hand. Versatility comes more from the player and not the class.
Oh, and the casters in my guild usually run around a lot. Seems they like to gain position, keep LOS, avoid fire and AOE like the plague it is, avoid the next spawn of trash and in general play like something other than target dummies doing a face roll.
