Been a while since I checked this thread.
I have no mana issues, and I keep BoK on me at all times. The extra health, and mana are much more useful. As a tankadin you should be getting most of the healing, and keeping your SoW up is going to keep any mana issue from coming up if you make sure to keep using HoR. Mana issue solved!
A set rotation is good, but not really a must. You need to make sure of two things.
1) Keep threat as high as you can
2) Keep your mitigation abilities (ex: Holy Shield) at max uptime.
I find this an odd post. You acknowledge the need to keep threat and mitigation as high as possible, yet you throw away approximately 20% of your threat generation by not using SoV and 3% mitigation by not using BoS in order to get mana regeneration that can be covered by BoS. The standard rotation provides you with both maximum uptime on your mitigation abilities and is the highest threat you can generate.
is this necessary? cause i dont use this and i seem to do just fine...?
This comes up from a number of people in different iterations. The answer is - no. You don't. The Paladin Police will not break down your front door and drag you off screaming into the night to be forced into an eternity of attempting to tank in pre-BC WoW with your only mana return coming from potions if you fail to use the 969 rotation.
However:
Your highest threat rotation is by definition your highest dps. Not doing it when mana permits means mobs will take longer to kill.
Paladin threat will be nerfed in 3.0.8 with the removal of the ShoR bug and the removal of healing threat through JoL. Strong dps may be able to reach your threat cap at this point if you don't know how to maximize output - if not with 3.0.8, then possibly with the release of new raids.
I use "x" rotation
If your rotation results in any dead time between actions (and any rotation other than 969 will) then you are not generating maximum threat. A maximum mitigation rotation utilizing the Libram of Obstruction and 2/2 Improved Judgements is an option for when threat is not an issue and you wish to make the job of your healers easier, as is dropping abilities from the rotation in order to recover mana if you aren't taking sufficient damage and wish to chain pull the next set of mobs.
Requiring yourself to use Judgement (to activate the BV Libram) before Shield of Righteousness on every rotation is an example of this. In the course of the pull, all this does is remove non-boosted ShoR attacks from your rotation that would otherwise be there and thus reduces your threat generated.

Remember that now a days, using SoB or SotM for alliance, is way better than using Seal of Righteousness since it gives better dmg in both judgement and seal :).
But it may be the facts that this seal on swings can proc a critical hit whereas last I checked SoR couldn't..
At least that is my experience..
Both SoR and SoB generate less threat than SoV.

SoV does more threat than any other seal for a tankadin. I see no reason to change it unless I'm in the situation of having to keep my threat underneath that of another tank.

There haven't been any changes to alter things in 3.0.9. Waiting to see on 3.1, but I'm not expecting anything.
For soloing, 969 will work fine for an AoE situation. Drop Consecrate (and possibly Holy Shield) if you aren't dealing with a lot of mobs as you'll kill your mana in short order.

With the new Glyph of Divine Plea and the changes to Guarded by the Light in 3.1 DP will have to be thrown in to the beginning of this rotation to have 3% reduced damage from all sources.
DP will just be one of those things you fire up before the fight, much like checking the rest of your buffs. Assuming you aren't chain pulling, you'll just be throwing AS, hitting DP as the mobs run up, and then moving right into your rotation.
Thank you for putting this together, but I have to ask if this is really the best rotation with the BV bonus we'll get from the libram. Because the increase in BV will increase damage from ShoR. Just a thought, really a good post though
Any rotation which attempts to always place ShoR after a Judgement will simply result in fewer uses of ShoR.
Notice that after you judge, you will *always* use ShoR within 5 seconds to take advantage of the BV proc so long as you are following the 969 rotation.
How will the new build 3.1 affect rotation? Should I re-Glyph to be more effective with new spells and changes?
No changes that affect the rotation yet, apart from ensuring that Divine Plea is up at all times.
