Maybe I'm really stupid, but what's a heart?
When I think "heart" i think of the organ, but that's pronounced "hart(h)" isn't it? So you must be talking of a word of a different meaning. Or am I completely wrong?
Not Heart, Heart
h
. As in 1) A fireplace or 2) Home.

My personal pet peeve: People who say melee "meee-leee". That's far more understandable than a lot of other abominations I've heard in vent, given how it's spelled.
/sigh when people argue that they are saying it correctly
// mêlée = mey-ley
/// I blame the French
It's also correct to pronounce it mel-ey.
I've known how to pronounce this word correctly for a long time. (Thanks, Super Smash Bros.!)
Always pronounced Hearth as H-earth, though I knew what a Hearth was I've never encountered it physically and thus have never needed to pronounce it. (As I assume is the same with a lot of my H-earth kin. >.>)
I know the difference between Regent and Reagent, but it's harder for me personally to wrap my tongue around Reagent. =/

Ive always Pronounced it H-Earth Ive never heard it pronounced differantly in WoW or otherwise.
Not that ive heard it used in real life.
Does make me question what else ive been saying wrong, and wether some of those Americans ive been laughing at for screwing up words really were right.
At least im now corrected and can change.
What other words do you think Americans have been mispronouncing, and where are you from? There are some legitimate differences between the pronunciation of British English and American English.
"You say 'Al-loom-in-um' we say 'ah-loo-min-i-um'; you say 'oh-reg-ga-no', we say 'or-re-GAN-o'; you say 'erbs' and we say 'herbs' because there's a ****ing 'h' in it."

And yet you don't pronounce the ****ing 'h' in hono(u)r or honesty. Language is funny, and that's what I love about English and why I so love the writing of those who display any degree of mastery of its intricacies.
Oh I agree completely, the whole "h" thing was an Eddie Izzard joke. But yeah, if you're someone who's interested in languages, English is a really neat one. It's more complex than many other languages and there's a real richness to it. It may not flow as well as French or Spanish or Italian but it really does have a certain je ne se quois that it really gets from stealing from other languages, de acuerdo?
