Look at today, a fresh 70 is expected to grind for full S2 and honor pieces, as well as get an arena team to earn some points so that they can get some S3 and S4 gloves, maybe more if they're a good arena player. Then, they can run Kara and jump straight into heroics without touching normal mode instances.
I view the expectation of PVP grinding to enter PvE end game to be a definite negative of BC. I have no objection to that being "a" route to gearing for raids, but the notion that its expected is very sad. I sincerely hope that PvP gear will be nerfed enough for PvE so that a straight PvE gear path will be preferred for end game.
Oh and to the OP's topic. The reset for everyone created by raising the level cap is IMHO a very good thing.

Your the one fighting thus claims. Blizzard did not intend for add-ons to come about. Of course they dislike them to some extent. If
you
don't want to agree, stop replying.
Its pretty obvious, when starting a game something will come about to modify it. Blizzard knew this with Warcraft and Diablo; as well with World of Warcraft. They did not know what would come about, but knew something indeed would. They despised add-ons when first approached. But seeing the player's point of view on it, came to a liking. Yes, Blizzard doesn't say "NO" to them, but they do not reccomend them.
You realize that Blizzard publishes the UI changes that come with a patch to facilitate maintaining add ons? Also many of the UI changes since classic was released have incorporated the functions of popular add ons. Blizzard directly supports the development of add ons that do not violate their lua guidelines by releasing information to the add on development community
BEFORE
game changes are released. They allowed the use of add ons in the Wraith beta. Popular add on developers were included in the beta so that they could test their add ons.
You are simply wrong on this.

Add-ons ruin the game, they are for mindless idiots who can't do things theirselves.
I'm not trying to start a fuss, which one cant be started through typing, or a conflict be brought about. Regardless I know myself I will
never
use add-ons. This forum is about level cap, not whether I'm right or wrong. So take it else where. I can do just fine without add-ons, and have been. So...continue with level cap, or until forum topic is canceled.
Of course it your choice to not use addons but when you start acting superior because you don't (calling those that do "mindless idiots.") Of course people are going to object to that. Then add making untrue claims like blizzard hates addons then people object. Blizzard encourages addons. Why not? If they don't work it's not their fault but the game experience is enhanced by some of the addons so they get a better product without paying the programmers to add the functions that improve the game experience. If it there an addon folder by default in the warcraft interface? The reason there are so many addons is because blizzard encourages it.
Addon authors were invited to the beta so they could prepare for the changes in wraith. Have you ever tried any addons? If not how can you be so certain in your beliefs about them?
As for the level cap as many people have stated it is not the only way but it is a good way to provide a clean start and it helps level the playing field. The main objection you seem to have to raising the level cap is for leveling alts but right now it is easier to get to 70 than it was to get to 60 before TBC. They have been responsive to the barrier of leveling to higher levels and have reduced experience required and allowed you to get a mount earlier and for less gold. I understand your objection having only been at 70 for a week as I had only been at 60 for a little while when TBC came out but many people have been at 70 for much longer.
I know this may sound elitist but since you have only reached 70 you might not understand much of endgame. (Pretty sure you don't raid since you won't use addons!) At the level cap the main goal for most PvE players is getting better gear so you can progress through the content Kara --> SSC/TK ---> MH/BT ----> Sunwell. You suggest "Make instances that will be hard unless you have appropriate armor etc." but you continue this trend that new players will be so far behind the seasoned players it will be overwhelming. If after a couple expansion there are 15 raids you need to progress through it is going to be hard to find 24 players at your gear level if you want to raid unless blizzard provides an easy route for getting the gear to jump up to where everyone is and that would create another set of problems. Also there will be less reason for people to buy the expansion if only sunwell geared players benefit from the new content (and blizzard wants to make money).
If you raise the level cap to 80 it gives you way to introduce better gear and put everyone on an even playing field to begin the new content. It also encourages people to quest in the new zones (for the experience) and learn more lore if they want. If the level cap isn't raised you'll end up with an excessive amount of level 70 zones all over. I believe that blizzard has stated in there will be no more arena gear for honor and I think they see the issue that it was creating (ding 70 - grind honor for S2 and no reason to do the entry level 5 mans) and will hopefully correct it.
Raising the level cap isn't the only way but it's the blizzard is going so expect it to continue and I doubt you'll be the first person unhappy with blizzard so I don't think you'll change their mind. If the level cap going to 90 in a year or two is going to bother you that much you might as well quit now. I'm excited because while blizzard isn't perfect they have been improving the game a lot over time. (Compare the experience of MC (entry level raid @ 60) to kara)
