Confirmed this morning:
Paladins cannot cleanse OR purify this disease.
It can be cleansed.
It has a high, high, high resistance to dispel mechanics. I read somewhere (possibly in a forum post...possibly in this forum) that it's a level 80 disease. Which would make sense, and explain why it's rough getting rid of it.
But you can get rid of it, if that's your thing. Just keep at it, good paladin.

As mentioned on wowinsider, apparently near to Balnir Farmstead in Tirisfal Glades Arthas' horse was dug up.

I think the funniest part of the whole event is how both 'sides' are griefing. When you're a zombie and you're camping low levels and attack lowbie towns and having fun ruining others' fun, you're JUST as bad as the people running around, curing and killing zombies to ruin their fun.
The whole thing seems like a giant fight to ruin other people's fun.
Either way, I love world events like this.

It creates a situation where one player has the option to take away the choice of another player to just play the game.
just play the game? like a single player or something?

Confirmed this morning:
Paladins cannot cleanse OR purify this disease.
Even after repeatedly trying?
They, and priests, still can remove the debuff, it's just getting a LOT harder.

For warlocks, it seems you can avoid the 10% durability hit by killing yourself with
Hellfire
.
I checked my combat log and didn't see any durability loss.

To the previous poster:
Maybe you have the time to spend three hours avoiding idiotics players feeling they can ruin other's people game.
I have not. When i log on wow it's to have fun, play a game i like and achieve quest with my toon in order to level him and one day see the deadliest dungeons from Outlands.
My game sessions are in the evening (hu yes sorry to have a work, wife, child and normal life to care about) and mostly for 1 or 2 hours lenght during the week (2 evenings a week ) and on the week end i can manage to play 3 hours (often dedicated to instancing).
As i said earlier maybe you have the possibility to avoid corpseeating players all night and so multiply by two or three your gaming time. I have not.
As we pay the same fee each month i don't see any reason why my gametime should be shortened by your conception of the game.
Regards
I too have a limited play time - I have two dedicated nights a week, anymore time I get is due to a lucky break between spending time with friends and family.
As you correctly point out, we're both playing the same game and paying for it. The difference is, I am prepared to tolerate a two-week max disruption to the normal course of events in order to experience a singular event in the history of WoW. This
will not happen again
and I for one intend to make the most of it.
If you cannot reconcile the fact that Blizzard can, and clearly will, change the game at their own whim and see the inherent opportunity for fun and enjoyment in it, I urge you to not waste the limited time you claim to have on a game that, clearly, you're no longer enjoying. There are ample other fun games to play out there and if the
two week long at most
changes are too much to swallow, might I humbly suggest you move on.
This needs to be put into context. It's two weeks, three at the most. Please bear this in mind when criticising just how ill thought an event it is.

Well actually I don't see it becoming an annual event seeing that the whole plague idea is probably just a trick to explain Horde-Alliance military expansionism into Northrend.....
See the Lich King has been waiting up at the North pole for almost four years, if I'm not mistaking, gathering forces to"decimate all life yata yata yata" and just taking a slay to go check if Santa's home would be kinda outta place.... so; they have the big bad abominable death knight send some ghouls to Azeroth spread some havoc, a bit of mayhem and a few crates of tainted grain to get people's blood a bit warm, you know to scare them into waking up, get their attention.
Now what's the first thing that comes to mind when you see a bunch of greenish-greyish, smelly, slimy undead SoBs smacking everybody till it's not funny anymore:c'mon people it's yours *yell* Arthas *yell*............and where is his seat of power?at Northrend...... So where do Trall and Jaina send there troops?I'll let u guess this one...(hint:it starts with an "N" and ends with an "orthrend")

I love the whiners. Good riddance if they stop playing the game because of a short, one-time only event. XD
The most annoying thing about this is the inability to grab dailies in Shattrath because the NPCs aren't around. Minor inconvenience. Aside from that, I have yet to encounter idiots exploiting this cool event and the zombie transformations.
Braiiiiinz. ;)

I personally think that it is a lot of fun. I also think, however, that quest NPC, Flight master, and unflagged players should not be able to be attacked. It's ok to kill guards, they respawn and no one needs them anyway, but Bankers, Auctioneers, profession trainers, class trainers, quest givers, and flight masters should be free from the mayhem.

It would be nice if (as a level 40 Pali) I didnt have to drain my mana bar trying to cure the disease. My remove disease ability barely ever works. Also, often NPC's will give me the "there is nothing to dispel" error... even when they obviously are infected.
