A point of interest, in Caverns of Time: Culling of Stratholme, your first mini-quest (think Durnholde quest-like + BM's waves idea) is to use a device Chromie gives you, on Suspicious Crates, and reveal them to be infected with plague.

I killed a couple of poor bastards before I realized they were players who'd not gotten cures in time. I thought they were some sort of event boss.
At first I was like, D'oh! And then I was like Muahahahahah!

I just got a zombie plague and killed a plagued zombie in the shadow council ruins, while doing quests in relation to private weeks.

OK, just for anyone who wants to know, zombies (at level 70 at least) get 11k hp. However, your hp slowly drains, and the only way to heal is to attack things. Attacking heals you for something like 300hp a hit. In normal zones zombies show up as red to everyone, however in Shat you can't attack other players, so only the NPCs aggro on you. NPCs can be infected and turned into zombies as well. The argent healers will heal your disease if you haven't turned into a zombie, and most of the healers are placed in places to prevent you from infecting an entire city.

For the record, if you see a
paladin
running around with the plague and you cleanse them, you're either a noob or an ass. Obviously they can do it themselves, so clearly they
want
to turn into a zombie.
As a rule of thumb, unless you're asked,
don't
cure.

When you turn into a zombie, you can attack just about anything, including NPCs and PCs of either faction. However, you're very weak, and normally move at walk speed. Even if you were clad head to toe in the latest greatest PvP gear, a 65 in greens would have little difficulty taking you out. That limits your ability to do too much griefing.
Now, granted, if you see someone with the plague who looks like they're eyeing NPCs you want to use, I can see dispelling them then. Otherwise you're basically being a party pooper.

I personally took it upon me to scourge Sentinel Hill. Awesomesauce blizzard, awesomesauce. I'm not even considering warhammer online now.

Turns out you can talk cross-faction while you're a zombie. Blue have even confirmed it's an intended effect.
For the Scourge!

If you're in Shatt, please don't attack Nutral, the flight master. It is not easy clicking on him to fly somewhere when there are about 20 to 25 Enraged Wyverns stacked on top of him.
