My question, also. What's the downside to this?
Who wants to take a warlock into a raid when a moonkin can do as much dps as a warlock and still can heal with spellpower efficiently?
He can't. That's the downside to hybrids, they won't be topping the charts. At least that is the intention.

Why are there so many DPS classes complaining...
this has to be THE GREATEST major change to WOW's SYSTEM, in WOTLK.
Hybrids now have the ability to utilize two specs! EX: Paladin can Have Healing and Tanking!
Hyrbid classes are all ready being forced to carry two(3 or even 4) sets of gear. Now they'll be able to switch on the fly.
For Pure DPS classes, this is also really good cause you now you can have Raid/Party and PVP dps specs.
Not only that but it really has a positive effect on PVE content, such as asking a Shadow Priest or Prot tank to do the opposite if they're comfortable/have the right gear.
The only real concern is getting !@#$%^&s in pugs, who want you to tank instead of healing, because some players might not be used to both specs.
I play a Paladin and I've always wanted to be a healer when I got into TBC, but I can't level as holy, so I went Prot that way I can solo my quests and still do 5-mans. I have a collection of holy gear that ain't too shaby, and it's such a shame when I'd be in LFG and they needed was a healer, and I was a tank. Or the same could be true for the opposite.
As for my Warlock Character this makes me happy cause I could spec Demo for Metamorphosis and still have Affliction or Destruction as a backup.

I just can't wait to be able to have a raid spec and a pvp spec without having to blow INSANE amounts of gold on it. Or if I want to pvp as one spec to try it out or something like that. Or maybe I like to bg as one spec (shadow dance daggers) and do arenas as a more reliable spec (mutilate prep).
Thank god they did this.

Reason for bringing a pure class into a raid.
Warlock
Seed of corruption.
They don't need as much healing thanks to haunt and siphon life.
Curse of elements. (13% extra spell damage is realy good), curse of recklessness (no attack power bonus in wotlk if u put 2 points in fratility) and curse of weakness
DoTs.
Can offtank certain bosses such as curator where we have to soak up all the bolts he generates.
Pet abilities. Dispell/Blood pact/Seduction/Dps from felguard.
High dps with dots up.
Mage.
Arcane intelect.
Food.
Utility and survivability (ice block, knockback on blast wave etc.)
High dps.
Rogue.
Good dps
A better misdirect
Master poisoner/Savage combat
Hunter
Pets.
Traps.
High dps

From my experience... this wont make to much of a difference in raiding. You always bring as many healers and tanks as you need, so all this does is make it so they can dps when there not needed!
And it helps people who like to PvP and raid, just a quick hop between the two!
This kind of thing is good for times where one fight might take more dps and less heals or vice versa. Or where you have a one tank fight and brought two tanks, so instead of having a half assed dps he can go full out.
