Modern fantasy (including WoW lore) doesn't count! Gods don't count either. Heracles counts though even though he became a god, because he was originally human.
Anyways, I just finished reading The Iliad (AMAZING) and I would have to say Achilles is my favorite. He nearly freaking sacked Troy by himself! And then he chased Hector around the city 3 times, before Hector finally turns around to fight him, and Achilles kills him with
one
thrust of his spear! Amazing!
He also fought a river at one point, which I found amusing.
