go recount a raid boss... I know for a fact (im over hit capped) i miss (rarely ever but still miss). Not saying it hasnt been changed to "never miss" but I know i do.... the charts show it... combat log shows it.

I've one upped you.
Here's a
WWS
of our last logged Brutallus kill. Both hunters are hit capped and, though we both died to burn a few times (TERRIBLE) I think roughly 45 minutes of combined attacks is enough to disprove this. Also I didn't include Pinna because he was just recruited because our original SV hunter got hurricane Ike owned.

what does that prove? that you didnt miss a shot? how does that disprove what i said? What i see on my screen and what you see on your screen are different. Im not arguing that the mechanic is in place... im just stating what ive seen with my own eyes. and i said RARELY do i miss... but... as i stated... ive seen misses on the board while hit capped. Neither you nor i are wrong in this case...
edit:
also i notice that it says you took about 212 shots total on that brut kill... you see where i said like 1:1000? coulda done that about 5 more times and only see 1 missed shot and yes... i looked at the full report 850ish shots total... again doesnt prove nor disprove anything though
I've one upped you
on that note... dont be a troll... no need to try to "one up" someone... post useful information with the intent of helping out the OP... not your own ego stroking radio ;) come on now we usually play nice =P

You want proof that it is possible to truly hit cap? Go to Dire Maul North and go to the very last room. Do not kill the last 2 bosses, instead, run around the edge and you will see some ogre spirits. These spirits cannot die, but they can be shot for damage numbers. Shoot one of these guys overnight. Empty out a full quiver on them with your hit gear. You will never miss. In fact, you should never miss without any hit since it is a level 60 target.
oye so how does that help? lvl 60 targets again prove nothing...

ive gone whole raids without missing (i checked swstats) and in my opinion, if you arent hit capped then you need hit rating, not agi. regardless of spec.

There is one advantage that hunters have that no other physical damage class has, and that's the fact that ranged shots cannot be dodged or parried. If a hunter has 0 hit and another melee class has 0 hit, the hunter will still have a higher chance to hit, over all.
That said, here is something else to think about though. The dps of the hunter class considers this, and thus, has a low base dps. In other words, if the melee class has no + hit, but, has enough expertise to eliminate dodges and parries, their dps will be higher. I think this is the common misconception that people have, that they can get away with no hit rating because of this.
It's quite entertaining to see hunters get into full PvP epics, then think they can dps any raid up to SWP. Their dps just plain sucks. If you are happy with your dps, and your guild doesn;'t care, more power to ya, but, if you want to compete in the T5 content on up, you better have your hit capped, or close. Does 600-800 dps sound better than 1200? That's usually the difference between equal PvE gear and PvP gear in terms of internal gear lvl.
