im not sure if you've heard of that little intermission between WoW and LK- its called BC. yeh i never heard of it either, but apparently balance druids got leather gear in it.
You phael.
WotLK has TOOOOOOONS more balance leather than BC.

ok instead of making this guy look like an idiot id prefer to agree with his statement to a certain extent.. bare with me here
so pre bc there was very little leather balance gear within the game, most of it seemed to appear arounf nax and aq40 which was really inaccessable to most druids... intoduce bc, they got a slight boost in itemisation this was noticed by both feral and balance, whereas before hand druids were pretty much pigeon-hole'd (sp*) into healing... even when u look at the leather gear available to level 70's for the balance and to a certain extent feral, it is still limited, in comparison to the high availability of resto items which seem to be readily available from alot of quests..
now wotlk is round the corner and the itemisation is for all druid specs is at an all time high, with the conversion from +healing and +spell dmg we have the conversion to spell power... so any items that were restoration are now also considered moonkin loot..
so hes right, there is a lot more gear available to the druid class

Actually, DPS and healer gear will have some differences @ end-game, even with the new spellpower system.
DPS gear will come with crit and hit rating, while healing gear might come loaded in mp5, maybe more SPI, haste being quite common for both*
(Based on a few items i have looked at. May not be very accurate)
