MM isnt terrible, you just suck at playing it, just as I suck at playing BM.
Its all about knowing how to play your spec correctly and knowing the rotations.
Btw: Use 1:1.x if your MM.

MM is terrible. BM hunters do significantly more damage. SV hunters have far more utility. If you raid as MM, don't plan on getting very far without a respecc.
Once again, another hunter who knows nothing of how to play MM.
If your in complete PvP gear, and are going to start doing raids, you want to be MM, if you have mostly PvE gear, you want to be BM, and if there is no hunter in the raid thats SV, you will probably be asked to be SV because you will increase the raids overall DPS.
