Well my 2v2 parner used to be a MS war (Link:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Spinebreaker&n=Jacxx) i'm usually a DPS variation of SL/SL, but i recently took a liking to UA (43/7/11) with high enough spell dmg and if ur partner hits hard enough it odn't necessarly have to be a spriest as a partner. just as long as u keep DoTs up and focus fire with ur partner. right now i'm in a team with a BM hunter, it's been working out fabously, even if i die i take some 1 with me and ther other one is nearly dead.

I recently switched from playing with a druid to a setup with a rogue with my PvE destro specc, it isn´t the best setup but LOADS of fun. Matches last no longer than 2 min now compared to the marathon matches I had with druid healer.
I use 4 T6 pieces and 4 vengeful/brutal pieces. We totally dominate against other nuke teams, but having a harder time against teams with a skilled healer.
Currently after 3 weeks we´re already at a 1900+ rating and I think going over 2000 won´t be impossible. They best about this is that I don´t have to respecc everytime I wanna play some arena, which saves me about 500g/week.
This does sound fun actually :-) I've played destro with a hunter before (although not to high level. the top rating we had was low 1800s iirc). There is a great glory feeling when you succesfully get enough CC in place to pull off a mutli-CD nuke sequence and annihilate someone very quickly. Our problem was always, if our sequence failed..... we lose :-)

any thoughs or advice? any from anyone that has done this, can you give any helpful tips? I'm pretty new to arena and have heard various things about who to group with for 2's, and I can't find a healer, so any comments would be greatly appreciated.
You will get far more information on this subject at
http://www.arenajunkies.com/strategy/than here.
all the 2v2 combos listed are basically the most succesful comps this season, which means they are by far the safest bets for a chance to reliably win games.
When you read the tactics, read
all the comments below as well. Many people have valuable alternate takes on what tactic is best, often taking into factors like different racial talents (perception or not often, whenever rogues are involved).
Also, if a you read some tactics and play some games and a certain comp is beating you repeatedly, look up their comps page and read what their tactic is to beat your comp. It gives a good perspective on what moves you need to prevent happening.
