Especially when the quests don't get any more exciting. "Collect 25 of *item*" with a $%^& droprate springs to mind. Wasn't I doing that on Sunstrider Isle at level 1? Ahem...
This is every MMO, every fantasy game. you cannot get away from it. Crappy Drop rates were made less painful in Outland content.

Leveling is my favorite part of the game to be honest, especially the grinding kind, or in groups, ohh so much fun ^_^

Leveling is fine until the 40-60 Bracket, Thats when it gets that tab bit boring.
Dont know why 40-60 seems like a crap time to level, it just is,!

Maybe is IS just me. But when i login and see my XP bar at less than 1/4 I just lose the will to live. From 25+ Ive found levelling much less fun. Especially when the quests don't get any more exciting. "Collect 25 of *item*" with a $%^& droprate springs to mind. Wasn't I doing that on Sunstrider Isle at level 1? Ahem...
Does anyone else get very very bored? Feel free to shoot me down! But honestly, the only fun I get out of the game now is doing instances. Questing just bores the &*!@ out of me.
It IS a chore. Its only there so we waste time and pay blizzard money while we get to 70.

No, it's ther because this is an MMORPG. It's by far one of the easiest one to level up with from my personal experience, let alone actually reach the level cap. This also goes for all professions, making them rather useless as tradeskills (but valuable for BoP items).
Go play your CS or whatever if you're going to whine about levels in an RPG.

The worst part of the game I've found to be gearing up for arena..aka farming pvp epics, I can't believe the stupidity of some players, it's especially annoying when you're trying to get marks for an item and you lose every match..and you spend up to an hour in WSG for 1 mark.
I HATE WSG.
I hope they have plans on revamping the pvp system, because at the moment it's a dull, mind numbing grind doing the same thing over and over coupled with extreme frustration.

I agree with the OP, and I don't think it's something that's necessary I think it's just a cop out for developers. What's to stop someone from placing more interesting chain quests in the game such as the missing diplomat or eranikus's chained essence quest (ironically both of those are broken questlines atm)? Why do quests have to be about collecting eyeballs and tongues and not about something a little less mundane? The game needs more interesting quest chains and fewer Nessingwary crap. I would love this game so much more if it had more story/bounty hunting quests and less eyeless murlocs and tailess scorpids.

I rather liked the Ernest Hemmingway quests. Of course, my only character to get there so far was my main, a Rogue with Skinning & Leatherworking. :) (my Warlock could start on Stranglethorn now, but since the Warlock robe quest forces you to Desolace, which I haven't done on my main 'cept to get the Nijel's FP, I figure he'll mainly stay there for the 30-40 march)
And, yes, leveling's a bit of a chore, especially for Taurens, Orcs & Trolls. Can't stand Mulgore, Durotar and especially The Barrens. Not too fond of the Ghostlands, either, though I've only had one character go through there (a Blood Elf mainly to see the sights after I installed TBC), which pretty much means any Horde character I make in the future's gonna be Forsaken. (and if I really want to play a Horde class they can't do, most likely they'll head to Brill the instant they finish the level 1-5 stuff :)

As in any game with progression, you are either grinding xp, rep, honor, arena points, crafting, gold and gear. It all takes time. It can be boring at times but it's fun overall.
Would you play a game in god mode? You are given everything at the start. It would not be fun in the long run. No feel of accomplishment and no point in playing.

And yes, i have to rant about the item collection quests again - especially if its a part of an animal. Like "Collet 4 Zhvera Hooves"
Why should this be any less than 110% drop rate? You kill one that dosent drop hooves...
Does that particular Zhvera not have hooves then? Even though you can actually see it does. Okay. so just cos ive killed it, its hooves magically disappear
No, of course not, but what makes you think that <insert body part here> is always going to be in usable condition for whatever the quest giver wants 'em for once you're through with all the slicing, stabbing, crushing, biting, poisoning, burning and/or freezing?
Though, of course you're right that quest item drop rates should be improved - but not so drastically. Personally, I think 25% drop rate should be seen as the minimum, especially if you have to kill a rarer subspecies for it.

I blazed through 30-60 on my prot pally, but yes, it is a chore. Especially because in azeroth, you can wear whatever you want and get away with it as long as it has good stats. I wore cloth bracers of the eagle and an ele shaman chest piece forever, I could tank strath/scholo just fine, then BAM! try to tank ramps without being decked out in plate with all +stam on it. I dare you.
