Paladin - level 14, and will likely stay there. Lack of range abilities drove me nuts.
Go Mining/Engineering. You'll be able to make Rough Dynamite immediately. It's got a decent range for pulling (better than a Seal and Judgement), though you have to be careful about placing the AoE circle. Unless you power-level your Engineering, though (not all that difficult or expensive if you mostly follow
Economical Engineering Training
article; just don't follow it religiously and not pick up recipes or forget to make things that'll be useful to you :), dynamite & bombs aren't good for damage (at level 24, where my Engineer first got it, Solid Dynamite's pretty good for a ~250 burst of damage when someone gets swarmed - but it'd be next to useless if he'd gotten it in his mid-30s like it seems he normally would have via only mining).

Having a 70 Holy Pally (and pulling my hair out leveling him) I love being MT healer and love all the healing classes. In a raid (I don't know about shammies) Priests & Druids are excellent healers. Having a large variety (more than I can dream of) of healing spells keeps them in high demand. If anything, I would trade my Holy Pally for a Holy Priest.
Edit: Shamans, in general, bring Totems to a Raid. Totems are just awesome. They are so OP no matter what spec of shaman they are. I'd still rather have a priest, but thats just personal preference.
