Deciding between Troll and Orc was a tough one for me...
Orcs:
Blood Fury
(282 AP @ lvl 70, 322 @ lvl 80) and
Command
.
Trolls:
Berserking
,
Bow Specialization
, and they look cooler. :)
I eventually decided on Orc.

Tauren also has war stomp. While yes it is a melee-range (ish, can't remember if it's 5 or 8 yards), it can be one extra thing to use besides wing clip/trap/scatter shot/intimidation/etc to get back to range. I'm making a twink hunter on a friend's realm (he's gonna twink me out so we can play together without me spending a whole bunch of time levelling on an alt) and I'm making a Tauren there for teh war stomp, but I'm making my main (which will do PvP and PvE) an orc mainly for the pet damage.

Per that site, the most common Horde Hunter race across all PvP servers is Blood Elf at 33%. Next is Orcs (31%), then Trolls (22%) and finally Taurens bringing up the rear at 15%. Take in all realms, not just PvP and Tauren jumps all the way up to 16%. :( Looking at all servers, but only Hunters that are level 70, Orcs actually take the lead with 34%.
There's a very good reason for the change in distribution - like with Night Elves, a lot of people choose Blood Elves because it's Elf + Bow = Legolas thanks to those horrible movies. Such people tend to be less dedicated, thus the drop off. (though, of course, J.R.R. made Elf = Archer a fantasy staple, it didn't stick itself into the 'brains' of the masses 'til the movies...)
