I am often sad to encounter huntards in my gaming travels.
Players with no concept of chain trapping. With bizarre spec's they claim pwn PvP. No idea of how to manage their threat, or even how to turn off growl!
They give all hunters a bad name. They are evrywhere we turn.
As a result all hunters are tainted by this shameful perspective. Not too unlike the time warlocks were everywhere and just seemed to deathcoil their way around.
I was saddened last night when, during an alt run of Kara, the tank asked me to trap one mob in a 4 mob pull as we had no priests.
I did so, in good time so my CD would pass ready to trap again, away from where the rest of the pull would be.
Once the trap broke I already had my second trap down ready.
It was disappointing to hear the tank say "feign death" over vent. I replied that I had it and received another "feign death" instruction.
If there had been no other mobs left, or maybe just one I wouldn't have minded, but 2 mobs remained and were aoe fearing the rest of the group. So I lured the mob to my trap and returned to the group, helped finish off the remaining mobs and noone died.
It is worrying that even people I raid with regularly do not trust me as a hunter to do a simple task that anyone who roles this class should be able to do!
Yes these players are more familiar with me on my priest main but, as they know my hunter was my 1st level 70 (and 1st level 60) and that I ran T4 content regularly before rerolling, surely they should be able to trust me to do this simple job!
How bad is the reputation of hunters when people see a class and form an opinion, even if they know the player already from a different class?
What is the hutard to hunter ratio in WoW?
I can count the number of hunters I met levelling my priest on 1 hand. Players who could kite, chain trap, and knew how to turn off growl. Are we that rare?
