Ok, after mixed sucsess in creating a thread to answer all question in one massive wall of text i have decided on this new tactic. As a paladin in the beta test i will field any questions you might have about paladins in the beta. Ask away I guess!
I'll probably create an FAQ here aswell based on what im asked.

Do you find Sheath of Light more effective at healing or Beacon of Light? For PvE or for PvP?

With the old beacon it was a cut and dry that beacon was for PvE (the plus threat was nice) and sheath for PvP.
however based on my, albiet limited, expirience of beacon now i can now endorse it as a much improved PvP skill because it is now instant cast and effectivly doubles healing done.
I personally belive that in it's current incarnation beacon is the
slightly
better of the two (assuming a future twinhealing nerf) on both counts and that we will see holy/prot more that holy/ret hybrids consiquently. however sheath is not dead because it is still a powerfull skill and along he way to getting it at it a paladin can get some other very useful buffs. Additionally I belive that as long as the twinhealing one target thing is fixed you won't gimp yourself if you choose sheath over beacon because of personnal preference AND for pure MT healing you would probably go better with sheath.
However, twinhealing is the big if here. As it stands the beacon 'effects' himself, meaning any heal on him will heal him again because he is the beacon. This is massivly overpowered and i assume it was not intended. If however this stays ingame then i'm afraid sheath will die out because it just wont be able to compete with that because it allows me to heal a single target for what are effectivly 6-7k holy lights normally for minimal extra mana.

Due to the increased attack power co-efficients on offensive abilities, and hence reduced spell power co-efficients, I am worried about Holy Paladins soloing and offensive PvPing viability. True, we've been given 6 second Holy Shock and improved Judgements, but these abilities will just increase the rate at which we spend mana.
Question: Overall, do Holy Paladins DMG/DPS more efficiently in Wrath than they do on live?

As prot, i'm interested in the stats crossovers. Eg strength to block, AP to Spellpower, Stam to Spellpower. How have you found these in practice?

Yes, I'm quite curious about this too.... Say you'd use ordinary maintankadin gear from 2.4, how would your threat/damage be compared to live?

Answer: yes, holy paladins can do more damage in beta than in live but not by much and not totaling that much however from what i have seen, enough to solo grind without depleating your will to live =P. Also with a sheath build like this you get even better soloing capabilities and you can still heal any instance you can LFG in.
Do the dailies on the island give exp?
Yes, most do. See this list for ones that reward exp
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?quests=0.4080
.
Note that they give 12k exp and northrend quests give 20k.

Str to SBV is now just less than 2:1 but in that general order.
I find that the Str to SBV conversion is awesome and i can see my "threat" set stealing pieces from my Retri gear because this and the new AP scaling mean Str in the new threat stat.
AP =/= SP, just that both now effect most of our abilities.
The new scaling thing is
BIG
i means that strength and SP are useful and as we get SP free with stam now Str will be the big thing because it relates to SBV aswell as the standard 1 str = 2 AP. I could find / make a list of spells that are AP / SP based but i won't unless you ask.
Stam to SP is 30% from the talent.
Just awesome, I couldn't ask for more. my spellpower is 700+ on beta because of this so i decided to use The Suneater as my weapon to get better HotR hits.
As to threat, it is perfectly good in the gear you will go to Northrend in. the only change is that if you have a warrior tanking weapon you might want to use that for better HotR hits.
keep em coming!

I'm a little confused about the Ap/Sp mechanic. For protection paladins, will they have to dip into sheath of light for spell power? Or will most of their abilities passively use Ap more than Sp, like Hammer of the Righteous?
Edit: Also, with paladins using warrior/DK gear, where does our intellect come from?
You use int gear now? prot needs no int.
the AP SP thing is so retridins can get better distance out of warrior or DK gear and also to help blizz make str a main stat for Tankadin.

Question:
How badly gimped are ret paladins, with the changes to JotW, and what effects have the latest changes (for the worse) to the glyphs had?

Question:

To be fair Retribution paladins were in need of tuning but as with Art of War (R.I.P comrade) I really think the nerf bat was too radical and too harsh. The new version of JotW is very much worse than the previous one for the paladin himself because it is based on mana pool which is (or at least should be) small whereas the prior one was based on the judgements damage and was insane.
While the change has caused retridins to be gimped indeed by this change I can only hazard a guess as to how deep the harm goes beause i don't play much ret and also we haven't got any raids to test them in. My guess is that while this change is dire for all retridins trying to run dungeons that damage will be limited by the fact that while solo-grinding and questing drinks will keep the retridin ticking over but that is cold comfort. However we are not the only one's offended and in the new Retridin-Shadow Priest Allience we can appeal to Blizz and get this either reverted (with toned down numbers) or reinvented (again).
As for glyphs one must remember that we are seeing a tiny fraction of a profession here and that more is to come and what we have is liable to change. The only change for the worse in glyphs is Glyph of BoK in that it no longer give additional attack power and while this is unpleasent it is not really that big of a deal and it hasn't really done anything to the overall status of the class/spec.

How much hp do you have atm? and what level are you?
Post by

I'm level 71.
I have the same HP as a standard T4/5 paladin tank 14-16k depending on what set i use because thats the gear i'm using and greens aren't yet better. The thing is that there isn't gonna be a huge increase in stam on items from tbc to wrath as there was from vanilla to tbc. last time they halved the "statpoint" cost of stam effectivly doubling the stam on items right off the bat but this time no such luck =P.

pssh, i thought you were like level 75 or something

sorry to disapoint I guess!
I have the following to say in my defence:
my mage is also level 71
I got my invite while on holiday without WoW
I have done lots of exploring, the world is *stunning*
I was lucky enough to be completely locked out of the beta for three days because of login issues (now fixed)
in defence of future slowness, College starts tommorow...
but hey, I still think i can answer any questions on paladins that come up or I wouldn't have started this thread. I'll just recall all the insite from other sources and then speculate from there =P.
EDIT: Ok, 15 minutes gone now and no answer. I'm off to bed! wish me luck for tommoz!

The changes to JotW forced me to start using SoW every few mobs. I can barely maintain dps for more than a minute.

Palies need something like the new version of a Hunter's aspect of the viper - ie a way to regenerate mana quickly even if it means leaving combat.
