"Coming weeks" It typically takes them 2-3 weeks to release a patch after making it's impending arrival known to the public. Patch 2.0.0 (pre-tbc release) patch lasted almost 2 months. This puts wrath release right smack dab in the middle of November (coincidently right around the time when original was released).

I find it strange that they've already gone and promised the talent revamps "soon", considering there's still plenty of NYI talents in the current beta build :/

I agree. People who think it will take till next year seem to miss the fact that Blizzard upgraded their main office and has hired many more people.
Honestly the talents are not as unbalanced in beta as they would seem. If Blizzard listened to every whine of the players in beta we would not see Wotlk till 2010.
If you get 8 other women to help it still takes 9 months to have the baby. To achieve a certain quality level requires a certain time investment in QA. Integration of new features imposes a certain time requirement on the QA process. As has been mentioned, the real bug resolution process will start when the transition patch moves from beta to the several million users of the released product. Expecting that period to be significantly less than it was for BC is not realistic. tBC is a much larger and more complex product than classic WoW. The additional head count and productivity of better tools will be absorbed by the increased complexity of the task.

but there are zepp towers outside of OG and UC allready....
are they adding new ones to take us to Northrend?
or adding new flight paths?
cant wait to get new talents to my mains....
They're putting in new towers. There will be no flightpaths that jump from the existing continents to Northrend to the best of my knowledge (although Dalaran will have portals back to the other major cities including Shattrath).

Wotlk is comin out for a while, think about it, we are only in patch 2.4, and wotlk comes out in 3.0, and it's taken a long time jsut to get to 2.4 so we are going to have to wait a while
"Patch" 2.0 was Burning Crusade; we're currently on 2.4, meaning that we're on the fourth major content patch released since Burning Crusade. However, there's no rule stating that Blizzard must release patches 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, and 2.9 before releasing WotLK (which will be patch 3.0.3 ).
I can't give exact numbers as I'd prefer not to give major hints as to the company I work for, but if we're sitting on release 3.4 and our next version is 4.0, we're under no obligation (and probably won't) release 3.5-3.9 - we'll jump straight to 4.0 when it's ready for release. And Blizz will do the same.
My money is still on a solid release date being announced at BlizzCon 2008 (at which time I'm betting that they'll also announce the pre-orders for WotLK Collector's Edition).
