Been thinking of what to replace my boar with, either this
http://petopia.brashendeavors.net/html/mobs/mob_ghostsaber.php
at lvl 19-20 or so, or
http://petopia.brashendeavors.net/html/mobs/mob_ravagerspecimen.php
now(Or
http://petopia.brashendeavors.net/html/mobs/mob_enragedravager.php
later). Only really care about the looks since the dps difference is so small it won't matter for leveling much.

Go with the cat! I'll take Dash over Charge any day. (Boars can actually get both abilities, but at the cost of one ability slot.) While boars are a bit more sturdy and eat almost anything, I still think that the bonus damage from the cat was more useful in leveling quickly.
BUT... since this was only about looks, heh, it really is no contest: Cat!

Cat all the way. Eats fish, dps is great, and has enough health to stand up to most fights.
Ravagers only get a minute dps gain from gore and look ugly, and don't eat fish (which means you have to stack meat instead of being able to fish your food easily). And they have less health.
Boars lost their appeal with the charge/gore nerf a while back. I use to get an instant 4-5k threat, but it dropped after the change to around the same as all other pets. And the gains from tanking vs the loss in dps is not good enough to use it over a cat for most encounters.
If you want a pet to hold agro well, get an owl/carrion bird with screech.
