Im kind of stuck at the moment. I have a 70 lock and a 70 rogue. PVPing as my lock is very fun, on the other hand my lock usually gets owned by everything. Id like to start doing PVE. Rogue lacks a lot of utility ofther than CC and ive experienced hrs of search time LFG just for daily heroics, theres too many hunters, rogues, and mages LFG.
I havent done much PVE on my lock, just kara a few times, but do locks generally get better invites? Im thinking of making my lock PVE and my rogue PVP only. Another reason to stick to PVE on my lock is 365 enchanting.
I love to PVP and locks definitely get the short end of the stick there. So im looking for opinions, what DPS gets a high invite rate?
Temping to just finish my 60 druid and go resto or wait for death knight :/

It may sound tough, but I'd recommend sticking to the class you like best, and playing it to the best of your ability. If you're pugging only, this is tough at first, but after a while, the invites come more often as people recognize your name and recall your ability. I did this on my Elemental Shaman, and have seen very positive results. Also, actively seek groups, and don't get discouraged. Pop yourself in three instances you'd like to run, and check in on the queues for those instances. If you see a tank or healer in there, too, ask if they'd like to start a group. Be proactive.
I'd also recommend getting in with a guild that runs a lot of regular 70 instances as well as Heroics. Those will tide you over plenty until Wrath, plus, you'll have greater chances at group invites, as most people tend to try to group within a guild.
Either way, the important bits are: Be polite. Know your class (PvP skill does not equate to PvE skill). Be patient. Be proactive. Make contacts. Run the Daily Normal Instance (greater chance of finding a group).
Good luck out there, mate. It's not easy at first, but you'll get a feel for it.

Um, locks are one of the most OP pvp'ers. You might wanna spend some time in the warlock forum for some help...
You would do well to do the same. Locks are UNDERPOWERED in PvP. Our only reliable survival move (Fear) is also the most easily-broken CC in the game. We can't put out good burst damage in PvP (well, destro can, but nobody wants to destro in arena, you give up even more survivability), our survivabilty is mostly gone UNLESS we spec SL/SL, in which case it's *decent*, and our primary source of damage (DoTs) can be healed through or dispelled EASILY.
Warlocks "OP" is a myth perpetuated by morons who refuse to learn how to play the game.
@ OP: I'd go with the lock for PvE not because they're "more desirable DPS", but because warlocks simply bring more raid utility. We can curse to buff either the other DPS casters in the group or the physical DPS in the group or throw up a self-benefitting curse, we give a stamina buff to everyone in our group, we bring healthstones and soulstones to the raid, we can drain to heal ourselves, taking *some* of the strain off healers in raid-damage fights.
Rogues can't do any of those things.

I don't care if people laugh at the statement. It just demonstrates that they don't play a lock.
Seriously, unless we spec a ****ty hybrid spec (SL/SL), we are food for everyone but mages and moonkins. With that hybrid we are competetive, but not great. We still have no escape moves at all, the crappiest CCs in the game (for PvP) that all happen to be on the same DR, and our pets aren't nearly the menace that a BM hunter's pet would be.

Id have to fully agree with JaxOmen about locks. My lock was my first character to 70 and i was dominated by many things. I lvled up my rogue because my main was ninja in FFXI and i find locks to be a free honor kill. Its just sad how easy it is to kill them :( i wish it wasnt so cause i like my lock
but yea, locks may have been OP back in the day, but they are faaaar from it now.
