yes sir... did that. and as far as stocking up on CS's... i just finished aquiring all the badge gear i need for myself so those are now the next priority. should have all my gems replaced very shortly.
So you're going survival then? I was referring to the Crimson spinel's for the survival hunter's delicate gemming. I'm confused, but whatever.
eh... missed that lol but not sure who is going survival. There is probably one person with better survival gear than I have at the moment.
But since you are correct in it EVOLVING into a raid dps thread rather than a rogue dps thread I will concede and say I was being over sensitive. Point taken.
No need to justify why I feel that our hunters are our strongest asset next to our tanks. I know hunter mechanics in and out. I know that i am doing the best i posibly can with the gear i have. I use spreadsheets (as you do) religiously. As well as all the other hunters we raid with. So next to ppl slacking off there isnt really any room for improvement untill the gear drops. By that i mean shot rotations cant be fixed, the gear we have is the best available at the level we are at we all know and play the class as well as it can be.
is there room for improvements gear wise? always
but our hunters are definitely not part of the problem. yes yes that could be bias since i play a hunter ill give you that. But its what I do know. Much like what you know about rogues. I assume your rogues arent going to be part of the problem since youre going to keep them in check correct? same here
lol but now this has turned into a "lets help unanimous" in every way possible thread rather than a "whats wrong with our rogues" thread but thats acceptable.. there are always more things underneath than what are visible to the untrained eye. hense the reason for the thread... which i feel has been very productive

why would you link mutilate? Mutilate is one of the lowest dps specs that people consider "acceptable for pve."
CSword>CFist/sword>Cfist>Cmace/Sword>Cmace>CDagger>=Cmut
you should say "this is the highest and 6th highest dps specs." when linking Csword and Cmut.
Since the buff to puncturing wounds, with the right gear mutilate outpaces everything but combat swords, and maybe fist/sword if you have a good enough fist. There's tons of info on this on EJ.

you should read EJ, or talk directly to Vulajin, Combat daggers is the weakest combat spec, and Cmut and Cdags run about the same dps until multiple heroism/bloodlust come into the picture, making Cdaggers better then Cmut.

HMM... lucsoke's last reply got deleted lol
Anyways... lets talk about Najentus...
Wound Poison... yes or no?
and what would be acceptable as far as SnS dropping. I think a higher number here should be expected because of the shields correct? However Im under the impression that you can still be building combo points while hes shielded. So what should be happening?
Also... Ive read that its good to Shiv right before a Tidal Shield... yes or no?

well... 4 attempts and no death. It was our first step into BT. we had 9 healers. Overkill I think did us in due to a lack of DPS. We did move the drood to the Melee group. I got my SP and never went below 80% mana. But anyways... yeah. too much healers not enough DPS we wiped on the first attempt from throwing spines before ppl were healed... the other 4 attampts we hit the enrage timer. Straight up lack of DPS...

Yeah, you guys always seem to roll heavy on healers. Are your tanks undergeared, or is it just force of habit?

force of habit. Our tanks are actually pretty good IMO. our healers are pretty good too though... I think we bring them for security but we might need to rethink this a bit. Over healing is gonna kill us. Like it did last night.

we all started our bandage about 2 seconds before the shield came up to ensure the debuff was gone before the next shield. I dont really think we had an issue with keeping ppl alive... I think we were waiting too long to throw spines though. We made sure everyone was at 11k health before we started the fight.... and then we would wait before everyone was FULL before throwing the spines. I think that was a mistake. It took too long to heal everyone back up to full health.
Also we didnt know about frost resistance. We didnt plan on doin him last night so we were a bit unprepared. Next shot we will be carrying frost resist pots and frost ward will be up and pallies have a frost resist aura too dont they?
anyways we got him to 10% before the enrage each time so I think with better timing we'll have NO problem.

DBM has a Najentus box built in that displays the names of all raid members under the HP limit at any time during the fight. Bigwigs has an addon available from
here
that will do the same thing. At least one person in the raid should have it to call out the names. Otherwise, don't worry about healing to full; there'll be time to do that after the shield breaks. And really, don't bother with frost pots. You'd be better off just using dps potions and killing the ugly bastard faster.

oh $%^&! that would have helped a ton. I didnt know there was a plug in for BigWigs... I did know about DBM though. Ill make sure that that is implemented next time. That would have saved a *!@# tone of time.
the thing with the 8500 thing though... I looked at though... i rarely saw anyone hit for the full 8500 in the combat log. VERY few... should i rely on this or just assume its going to be 8500 each time
*and i dont think a lot of us really went for pvp gear... just changed out a medallion and trinket or something. I could be wrong though...

This, everyone should have it, it makes the fight ez-mode.
Also, make sure your mages are frost warding and spriests are shielding themselves (holy should be healing groups) before the shield is popped, and the rogues are cloak of shadows-ing as it gets popped (the 8.5k aoe can be resisted, and cos is a 90% chance to do so). It lightens up the load on healers alot, which should make it very very easy for you to run 8 healers or less. If you really want to go all out bring a frost protection cauldron, but thats overkill unless your having lots of problems with the dps reqirement and need to drop more healers.

So ok... had a meeting og the minds last night to discuss some of the things we've been talking about here.
I discovered that the reason that we're using GoA instead of WF is because the shammy is usually in the tank group. The agility is to give the tanks a bit more avoidance.
I explained that the WF procs would be much more beneficial to the dps of the group so we neded to move the shammies out of the tank group and into the melee dps group.
we're gonna do this on our next run.
i asked about shiv. Zalast would shiv before a tidal shield to get wound poison up and to get a CP.
we also discussed curses from the locks. Which turned into a big mess of confusion so we dropped that talk for the night.
back to WF. Let me see if Im understanding this.... Im gonna compare it as someone would compare MM and BM speccs as a hunter. If Im understanding correctly WF with LoP > LoP and GoA. And this is because with windfury proccing that 5% becomes more substantion damage wise? and the extra agility simply adds more crit... like a BM hunter doing many fast smaller attacks for more damage compared to MM doing slower attacks with bigger crits. WF wins by volume rather than size as does BM correect?

can't understand how this could be confusing. 1 lock drops CoR, 1 drops CoE, and then whatever after that. Also realize that the amount of ArP CoR represents would have yielded additional physical DPS on those WWS reports to that of an additional DPSer in your raid.
well... its not confusing Ill agree. But somehow we ended up in a discussion about CoW other than CoR, CoD, and CoE. I stated that we run with 3 locks usually so we need CoR, CoD, and CoE respectively.
The argument was that the boss will hit harder if we dont use one or the other... which confused me... because none of the 3 I mention reduce attack power, thats Weakness.
But anyways Im gonna go talk to some warlocks to get some things cleared up there too lol
