More importantly in the WF v FT, if you put FT on your off-hand weapon you lower your chance to proc windfury, while if WF is on the off-hand you increase your chances to proc windfury.

I did a little in game testing on the two theories posted here. I have discovered that WF on both
IS BETTER FOR HIGH END RAIDING
but FT on OH does provide
slightly
better DPS output untill you reach those higher end raids. Gear and group make-up is the determining factor.
Please note that I only used dps charts/calculator add-ons in game to come to this conclusion and therefore
DO NOT
have the math to back this claim up. My opinion in this is simple. Don't be a sheep wandering with the rest. Take some time and initiative to do a little research on your own. My conclusion may be differant due to gear, crits/dodge/parry, and talents/stats. AGAIN, this is my conslusion based on my own tests....

also, once you've got over 1400 raw attack power, switch your off hand to flametongue. reason being it hits just as hard as your off hand windfury procs... on every swing, and doesn't steal wf from your main hand. thanks.
How the hell do you figure that? FT is based on spell damage which is typically low on ENH shammies, even with 30% ap converted into spell dam via talents.

@Gondorath.
Im not trying to reinvent the wheel. Im asking for proof. Your link that you like to wave at every shaman does not give that proof. You, or others, throwing arbitrary numbers around and making sweeping statements without the evidence to back it up is beyond useless.
Im not saying FT is better, Im asking for it to be shown
WHY
WF is better. Some people do actually want to know how the mechanics of the game work, and not just have the answer thrown at them.
I freely admit I am no expert on Shamans. I am going through a process commonly referred to as
learning
. But I will not now, nor ever have done before, take anything as given without proof to back it up. And you have failed to do that.
Because all the math and simulations, in all cases, has proven time and time again that windfury is superior for an enhancement shaman. My own "real world" testing has proven that using the same rank of windfury on both weapons has proven to be far superior than windfury + FT. Unfortunately, my guild's kind of gone into recession mode until WotLK hits or I'd show you the recount meters. I'll try to get some output next time we do ZA or something.

hey i got 130 hitraiting on my shaman and i doesnt see any miss for a long time ago;) so around 130-150 are enough
Be Imba! report on my shaman
. I have 83 hit rating and the hit talents in the enhancement and restoration trees and am considered fine. I could, however, stand to get some expertise rating by getting myself a
Shard of Contempt
but I've been lazy.
