I know, but then why not start at 60? I'm sure we could learn in 10 levels, doing content we've done once before.
The requirement for starting a Death Knight is only having a level 55 character. Meaning, it's not everyone that played through the Burning Crusade.
Also, their starting "zone" is Eastern Plaguelands, which - besides by far being the most fitting - also gives the possibiliy of doing a long and effective questline before letting you go to Outland.

Complete all of your Death Knight Quests, get to level 57. Talk to Tirion Fordring and do his quest chain. Get to 58,go to Outland, jump aboard the leveling train and get to 68 in under a week and then head to Northrend. I see absolutely no problem with this.

Well you need to have purchased the Burning Crusade in order to buy WotLK so I doubt it's that.

You know, it could be far worse. They could have introduced a new class for all players and told you it started at one. You know, that happened with Shaman and Paladins at the last expansion. Could have happened here. /shrug

Go find someone who just bought a character off ebay even with imba gear and see how bad they suck :p
thats what would happen if DK's were lvl 70 or 80 straight off. its called learning curve
Did instance with a t5 druid as tank the other month and he couldnt keep aggro on one mob never mind 2 - should not have happened with his gear an experience BUT it was his mate playing the char so group disbanded sooooo quickly lol
