Anyone else read NarutaruGood god that was a bleak and depressing story...but I still enjoyed it anyways. Have you read Bokurano Mila?

Has anyone else watched Clannad?
One of my favorite all time anime, made me cry like a baby.
Did you see the other two, Kanon and Air?
I just finished the first season and am now awaiting my download of After Story.
It seemed a tad rushed but I guess that's what happens when you squish a VN into 23 episodes.
After Story is the one that made me cry, it's so good. When you finish it I recommend watching the other two, Kanon and Air. The three are all made by the same company and are considered almost like a trilogy. Clannad is spring/fall themed, Kanon is all during the winter, and Air is in the summer. They also all make constant references to each other. That scene in Clannad where Sanae puts that jam on her biscuits and KOs everybody was a reference to Kanon. If you check em out I also recommend the 2006 version of Kanon, huge difference in animation between
2002
and
2006
.

I have not. I'll look into it.
Narutaru's gonna stick with me for a really long time. The story and characters were incredibly strong and what happened to my favorite character, the one I'm most similar to, in the chapter most places won't run, won't be getting out of my head any time soon. It was horrible.
I know exactly which one you mean...and yeah, the sheer amount of despair producing work in that manga is incredible. Have you ever watched the anime opening for that series? I really don't want to know how many kids were traumatized thinking they were tuning into a happy go lucky magical girl/pokemon like anime...and then watch as horrific things happen.
Edit: The manga-ka is really really really good...or maybe bad?, at making manga like that; pretty much all of his works are deconstructions of the genres. I really like his stuff, even as the really disturbing things happen.

I've been reading Asano Inio's stuff, but I'll move into their stuff after. Oyasumi Punpun is probably my favorite manga produced and Asano Inio coming out as trans and announcing a likely trans-focused manga after was pretty much the coolest thing I could imagine.
Heh, I just bet it is ^_^.

Are you watching it subbed or dubbed?

It made sense once I remembered it was a VN first. I spent most of episode 21 muttering "don't" and "you can't"
It had really good character development too. I didn't care for Nagisa for the whole first season and preferred Tomoya being with Tomoyo or Kyou, but then second season happened and I couldn't see him with anyone but Nagisa (no matter how much I liked the OVA eps)

In one of the OVAs he winds up with Tomoyo. Personally I think Tomoyo should have hooked up with Sunohara. Also I kept thinking Tomoya and that older chick with the purple hair (forgetting her name) would have made a cute couple after Nagisa died, like when she was teaching his daughter.

The thing is I don't think he could have been with anyone else after being with Nagisa.
Throughout the whole first season I would have preferred him being with Kyou (long haired twin) than Nagisa, but as I said I saw them grow together and become a really good couple. When I saw the title for episode 21 and the whole 'She'd been sick for 2 weeks, 3 weeks months' thing I was just whimpering "they can't".
DAMN EMOTIONS YOU HEAVY.

I really thought that they wouldn't be able to top Nagisa's death in terms of emotion, but damn if they did. Tomoya reconciling with his father and getting to know his daughter were both emotional as all &*!@. That part where she starts crying cause she lost the toy he gave her. And then of course the end...

I was really sad when I saw Tomoya at the Pachinko Plaza as he was becoming exactly like his dad, someone who he never wanted to be like.

Yea, but in the end it helped him get a better understanding of why his dad was the way he was and wound up bringing them together.

My download of Kanon is into its third day.
I can also not find Air on TPB =(.

try streaming it

Although i won't be held responsible if you get a virus lol. If you feel like waiting a few days I could transfer the episodes to you over skype or something, I have all the DVDs. Gotta wait till I get back to my house though.
I would watch Kanon first though, Air puts some people off because it's a little bit older, and some people feel like it's kind of rushed compared to the other two.
