well I personally never offer any advice if asked I will give my opinion. sometimes people just wear gear because it looks good and if that floats their boat its fine with me. personally i dont like running back to my corpse from some distant gy but thats just me

To Echo what Chandric and Hucklbery are saying. Perhaps it's better not to offer advise with out being asked. Or, at least ask the person if they want to talk about their gear or want some feedback on what there using.
Really; I got this item and yes there's something better out there but at the time I got this it was better than what I had so I used it. Now to go and get the better/best would cause me to lvl and throw me out of the *9 lvl bracket and I'm just not ready to do that, so the only way I'm getting said item were it to show up on the auction house for a reasonable price, the guild banks haven't spotted it yet, and I got enough gold to cover the purchase. Plus I already equipped what I got so I can only sell it for a pittance to a vendor cause it's soul bound. And I ready wouldn't know if I'll like it until I try it and then it too late cause I done bought it, so I'm all out of my comfort zone (lol). Not to mention I enchanted the item and now if ditch it I'll have to get another collection of mats together plus tip it hardly seems worth it cause I'm wanting to get the total magnificent item once I start leveling again. And, well it just seems more frugal to make due with what I have and save my gold or honer for the magnificent item.

tis a nice comfortable place to fall back to. but yes, lots of good hunters find out why the word "huntard" was invented the hard way.

I generally won't offer advice unless asked.
If they are in the guild and raiding, I will look over their equipment and offer suggestions for changes. If they take the advice or don't, it really doesn't matter to me. If they do, its good because it will only help improve their dps for the raid as a whole. I've done this with most of the hunters in my guild.
Only two guildmates have not accepted any advisements for talent changes or gear upgrades. Those two also don't raid with our progression group so nothing really lost by them ignoring friendly advice. They don't act obnoxious about not taking the advice so they are playing the game the way they want to.
If they do decide to raid with the rest of the guild, they would have to accept one of two things, change their ways to improve dps, or find themselves sitting on the sidelines while other people are picked to raid. My guild now has so many people wanting to raid that your raid dps performance/utility will be a deciding factor into whether you go or not.

Hey Hunter community.
Why is it that so many hunters are ignorant, won't accept advice, and are plain rude when you try to offer advice?
/rant overIt's not just hunters. Having a well geared prot pally and T6 Shadow Priest I try to offer advice to players when I see a messed up spec or gear stacked with the wrong stats. 90% of the time I got the blow off. Ya whateva, l2p, you don't know what your talking about noob...
I changed my tactic a little. Instead of just telling them they did something wrong, I ask them why they picked points in certain talents or why they have so much +strength as a prot pally. Tends to go over much better. Still get the occasional ignorant person that couldn't care less but not nearly like I use to.
