If it's 20% haste (and WoA is 10% spell haste), I think it makes them FAR more powerful than they were before.
Previously WF totems increased your damage by about 12.5%, and you couldn't have poisons/sharpening stones on your weapon. Haste scales so well, and now allows classes to take advantage of WF totem that could not previously (druid tanks/cats)

The windfury change is a huge nerf for MS/slam spec warriors. Windfury, combined with flurry, will make our attack speed too fast to carry out a slam rotation. No more blood frenzy for you :(

IMO if this change sticks, i'm pretty sure that the WF self buff will be changed to match, if not 30% for ourselves, but anyway, if this stick, it'll be the end of enh shamans, anyone that depends on their melee speed as hardcore as a dps warrior or the enh shaman currently do, won't want that much more haste, also it will make Hero useless...free to cast, constant buff for 20% haste, or 10 min CD for 30%?

Negative.
WF weapon will REMAIN as it is now.
Just as the "Flametongue totem" now grants extra spell damage but the FT weapon still does its same old crappy effect.
If WF ever went to 20% faster speed, our class would die. We would not HAVE ANYTHING to use anymore.

Blizzard needs to keep the current WF Totem.
Too much haste and is messes with the WF Weapon procs.

Also, WF totem will cost 15% base mana, which seems pretty expensive for a totem. not that enh shaman are know for the mana consumption...but still, that seems like a lot of mana when you have a full pool.
I personally think that it should stay the way it is with the extra attack mechanism.
Which way will increase DPS the most? idk, and neither does anyone else yet.
In regards to mana, I can't help but wonder if enh shammies are going to see a steep rise in mana pool due to the 1 Int= 1 AP + 15 mana conversion. I mean, lets be frank: With strength only providing 1 AP, whereas int provides the same (Talented)
plus mana
, and agility the same
plus crit and dodge
... I can't imagine any reason to spec into strength at all anymore (as... backwards as that sounds.) End result: complete reevaluation of gear, but a markedly higher mana pool.
I'm excited by the WF changes, and I hope they keep them. It will change a lot of timing mechanics for both shammies and warriors, sure, but stop and think about it: On the shammy side, we finally have a reason to use WF totem that actually benefits ourselves. (And, well, every other physical damage class equally.) Not to mention we're getting the full benefit of the old Grace of Air totem at all times via Strength of Earth changes.
Now the math might not be quite as simple as I'd like to think, but 20% faster speed roughly = 20% more damage output, except where that speed is overwriting other haste effects that don't stack. But this is a guaranteed buff, not subject to the whims of chance like the old WF totem. And if you want to take
implicit
costs into the equation, the Strength of Earth changes means we can have both the 20% haste and the marked increase to agi for all raid members at the same time.
Bundling all those benefits together, people still complain about having to do a little homework to find the new sweet spot for weapon speeds? I think this is an appropriate time for that age-old adage: "QQ". Enh shammies are finally getting some serious love, and I for one couldn't be happier. =)

3.0 has always been the desired weapon speed, but has anyone else noticed that there are very very few 3.0 speed 1H's? If the new WF totem makes 3.0 a MUST now and 2.6 and 2.8 are too fast, Blizz had better start throwin more 3.0 speed weapons into wrath drops, cause otherwise Enh may be in trouble.

This got me thinking. Currently, shamans using 2-handers are a 1. a novelty that 2. is usually restricted to PvP.
If however, one handed weapon speeds remain the same (around 2.6 speed) and there are no new, extra slow one-handers, I wonder if there will come a point that big, slow 2-handers become useful again? With a combination of BL, the new WF totem, Flurry, and the talent in enhance that increases the WF haste effect, you could conceivably get in multiple swings with a 2-hander inside the WF cooldown window along with a Stormstrike.
Thoughts?
