Yes. The way I see it right now, and judging by the alpha talents, daggers will outperform swords in raiding. That is, if the talents go live in this form :p

I refuse to make any comments about WotLK at least until beta. Because all we know right know is that things
will
change, and probably drastically so, between now (alpha) and release.

the only thing i see is that they have improved the use of daggers (good) and made the deep assasinationa spec (mutilate) very viable in pvp/pve.
i know that all can change, but i feel that they have done a good work. sub remains the best pvp spec, but i think it'll become viable for pve due to the spamming of bs that costs 45 energy.

well if daggers end up being better than swords in wotlk i will just switch back lol. not all that hard and not all that much of a downer since i used daggers from lvl 1 to 65 lol

From the looks of it I'd say if things stay the same a well played Mutilate spec will probably outperform combat but with the crit damage bonus to combat being pretty powerful and the easy of play of the tree compared to mutilate will probably keep it very competative and I'd imagine in alot of cases perferred.
Probably outperform???
Look at assasination tree - it gets great buffs. Look at combat tree - from pve point of view it gets almost nothing. As i wrote in another post - if changes will be inplemented in current form, combat builds will become obsolete in wow.

seems that someone haso some confusion in his head...
- combat will still remain very good in pve (
maybe
combat swords again will be the best) and there are lots of talents for pvp (which i think are good for nothing in that place)
- assasination has been buffed and i see lots of things that will put it on the same line as nowadays combat specs and still very viable in pvp. total fun here and big numbers on screen (for the peace of the epeens)
- sublety has been settled for daggers use, remaining the best pvp spec imo, but will become great also in pve (45 energy backstabs is simply godlike - pew pew die)
