Still depends on the encounter, but most likely rogue or warlock, but also depends on support classes.

Hunters, toward the end of T6 content; rogues or warlocks before then.

Highly dependant on group setup so there's no point to the question.
Also, best pds = one who stops just short of pulling agro

Personally I dont think there is a BEST DPS class - I mean your all making valid points about situation. But, there are ways to squish out more and more DPS as you learn the class. I think that you dont have to do the most DPS to be the best DPS'er. If you know your class it'll determine your value as a DPS numbers are just numbers.

There is best dps but it depends on many factors:
Gear level
- OP already said gear level is equal so this one's crossed off.
Talents & spell rotation
- We'll assume each class is using a maximum-dps talent build and cast rotation.
But we still have...
Raid encounter/boss
- some bosses are melee-friendly, some are range-friendly, it's crucial to know which script we're talking about here.
Party-specific buffs
- We all assume everyone has global buffs but what about party-only buffs? Who's getting totems and mana batteries?

I'd go ahead and throw out the Teron fight, accepted as the best example of your raids, and personal DPS. From what I've seen from a WWS parse, SK Gaming had a hunter hit over 3700DPS on that fight, god knows how many Bloodlust were Available to him >.>
Edit: Bloodlust, damn horde.

Why didn't anyone list Paladin!
Last Kara run, my prot paladin was 2nd on DPS until about nightbane. (and no, the other people didn't suck or were noobs, ect.)
Mass AoE tanking FTW.
Which showcases another potential pitfall when comparing DPS; AoE DPS is not the same as single-target DPS, and different encounters have different requirements for either. Don't expect to down Brutallus on time with only prot paladins DPSing ;P

Could last a damn long time past the enrage timer as well, think of the bubble taunt rotations...

Remember to also never confuse DPS with damage done. It's two entirely different things.
