Hey guys im a total newbie :) well kinda, i played about 5 years ago but never got a char past lvl 50 and now ive restarted from scratch this time round.
pretty comfortable with the gameplay and stuff but im wondering what realms are best to play on? remember i basically know nothing lol. not played any pvp yet. im still on a new players realm with my first char but ive made a second human hunter on emerald dream. hard ever see any other players outside towns tho, would love to meet some people i enjoy playing with and get involved with a guild but i seem to be leveling up alone so far. the social side of it all hasnt really taken off like i thought it would.
i think im on a low pop realm... could this be why? im still enjoying it but having some wow buddies wud make it alot more fun ha. ill need to try pvp and see what i think.
anyway any advice would be great, cheers! x

I have moved my ex-main toon several times over the past decade
Moving to Stormrage (NA) 3 years ago was my best move yet
High alliance pop and very active
AH economy is fresh as well
You could do some research on realmpop sites as well
Hope this helps

Realmpop
Is a very useful website that has all the information you need to make an informed decision based on what you are really looking for on a realm etc.
For example the site will tell you
Stormrage PVE
US Los Angeles (important if you have bad connection, the closer the server the better although less and less of a problem these days)
834,723 Alliance players Vs 41,003 Horde (poor Horde)

Aye, if PvE is your focus, then you're better off following the herd as they say and selecting a population that is balanced heavily on your side's favor. If PvP is your thing, then being a part of a balanced server is going to be what you want primarily. The suggestions above are excellent!
