Anyone know a quick way? I am leveling a Mage and its stuck in 60 heirlooms. I am stupidly bad at getting gold so whats some good ways to make a few k decently quick.

Low level profession materials, either by mining or herbing. Or you can farm wool and silk since those still sell wellish.

anything else that does either sell real well or grants decent gold?

Also do low level mats really sell because you would think people would just wait for legion to level their skills.

People still want to make the low level things for some reason. You can also collect the 15-30 greens and try to sell them for transmog nuts. Find the mats for some of the crated toys and sell those too.

Sell a token? That's really fast.

If you're 110 and have World Quests available, there's usually 2-3k gold worth of quests available a day.
Also if you're 100-110 you can run a few old raids both for sheer gold drops as well as to sell the respective boss drops. Vendor or AH sell the BoE greens/blues/purples. Check TUJ (the undermine journal) for pricing for your region.
If tank or hunter/warlock and 110 you should be able to do most LFR or normal MoP raids and maybe some of the WoD LFR raids. If geared and 110/tank you can probably handle many of the MoP heroics and probably some of the WoD normals. If not tank, and under 100, stick to pre-MoP raids.
Consider running raids that were enhanced for
Raiding With Leashes
. Many of the pets can still fetch a fair price on the AH (especially from
RLW4:Lick King
; the ones from Ulduar and ICC primarily).
Some of the suggestions on level/spec limitations are just that - suggestions. Try something wacky. You might profit.

Find low-level reagents that you can just farm the stink out of and throw it on the Auction House for 5% less than what anyone else (or at least the majority) is selling it for. Spend less than you're bringing in, and that should help. Depending on what you're going for,
here's a list
(as much as I could filter it) of items that could be worth your time.
