i'm prot pve.
i currently tank in MHJ and BT and so far nothing really has been a prob, but as mentioned, on some 1on1 it can be tough.
so maybe, instead of loads of new skills/abilities. just one
a spell that increases threat greatly, like 200% or so, but gives the pally forbearence.
healers have Divine shield and Ret have avengers wrath.
although the latter helps with threat, it deals more dps.
wear as if a new skill was put in, it would only be useful for a tank but would be a great help for single 1on1 tanking, making some boss encounters that bit easier.
and as for a tank, using divine shield can sometimes be a mistake.
unless, they add to it to help a prot pally (could be from talents)!
like when used, doesn't reduce or delete threat and gives some mana replen, giving a prot pally a bit of invincibility w/o taking away all their threat!
(sorry if this was said already browser wouldn't let me open page 2)

i want to see an ability for ret paladins that will help us get back mana, possibly similar to what shamans have.
Blizzard already stated that ret paladins will be able to utilize dps warrior gear efficiently but i don't see how that will work...
A talent that increases your intellect by like 30% of your strength? or something?
Wisdom of Kalgan, part 2: "Retribution is a leveling spec."
Ret talents like SoC and CS benefit from plate gear with warrior stats, which means rolling against warriors for the same gear. Not only that, the reduced mana pool that comes from wearing plate gear with no +int means that you are more likely to run out of mana during long boss fights, and a paladin with no mana only does a little more damage than a paladin with zero health (aka "dead.")
Now, obviously this concept isn't 100% true, because Kalgan (who plays a warrior, go figure) isn't solely in charge of design, just the head of the team. But, when WotLK comes out, it will become clear that many improvements that should have been made to the Ret tree were instead given to the new DK hero class.

Prot PVE
Holy:
Some type of HoT or group heal, we have consecrate, why not a Consecrate Heal? Circle of Divinity: Cleanses the earth around the paladin healing all party members of 100 health every 3 secs, scales with bonus healing of course. Anyways, it's been hit on before, so I won't beat a dead horse.
Prot:
Reduce the cost of Consecration, bloody hell, 660 Mana for max rank....come on
Ret:
Improved Judgement damage. The only time I really judge something is at the beginning of a fight and if my Seal is almost up, I'll judge and refresh the Seal.
Talents:
Spell Interrupt / Anti Silence. A must have, Warriors & Druids have a form of bash, we "deserve" something that's equivalent.
Holy Shock: Every spec should have Holy Shock, smiting our enemies with holy power, it's in our class desription. Keep it the same, based off spell damage / bonus healing, lower the CD and make it a 30 yard range for a viable ranged attack.

Oh I just though of one... this should be for ALL tanks IMO. Cause it's just too cool.
A built in "Legacy of the Mountain King" cmon... !
All tanks should have a size increase! (Except for druids... they can stand to loose a few pounds... fattys). (Nothing crazy).
Have you ever tried to dps around a tauren warr tank?? If you're something like a lil blood elf its a nightmare. And then ---
"Dear God he took Giant Growth Potion" --- next line is invariably "Crud I had to tab to target and got one of the next pull by mistake" -The Hunter

You see, paladins do have that ability. 2 of them. Seal and judgement of wisdom.
And if you need mana go find some fire and stand in it, or stand somewhere where you will take damage and the healers will throw you some heals. The ret pally in my guild does it all the time and nobody notices.
And just because DPS warrior gear doesn't have int doesn't mean its warrior gear. I see ANYTHING with strength AP crit or any of that crap and it can be pally gear. Even leather stuff.
Grab hunter/shaman melee dps gear. It has AP, agility, int, and mp5 if you REALLY want dps + mana.

@zoomie, and ANYONE ONE ELSE THAT WANT'S TO BE A GRINCH
This is nothing more then a fantasy, a wish list. Some NOTHING is known, sometimes its nice to just sit back and go "Wouldn't it be cool/great/awesome if.
I read the first few lines of what your wrote and looked and what you quoted. You failed to graps the concept of this thread and thus added nothing but you trying to show of elitism.
Hell if you just wanna take a stab in the dark as to what you think WILL come about.
Like my comment on weapons better fitted for a tankadin, I DO foresee that happening. Do we 100% need it... not really. But having a weapon that has a look thats just ours, and instead of spell hit/crit we get something else... yeah that would be great! (Sorry I think the crystal mace if fugly.... in fact I think the fugly tree grew over it.. fell over onto the mace... rolled over it, did a Loony Toons thing were it got launch in the air and landed on the mace... repeatedly!) I think it would help prevent some of the QQ over gear (you may not hear it... but every caster in my guild was complaining to me that I got first dibs on any spell dmg item...)
Making Paladins a 1 stop shop for all tanking needs. As much as
I
would love it... I
know
it's not going to happen.
I really wish these 20 post users would actually see that I post often in the paladin forums. Know much about them. That I'm a successful tankadin. And LOVE IT. But trying to crush my dreams... please, let blizzard do that.
For everyone else... please post more unique wishes or projections. I very much love reading these. =D as I'm sure you all do (he'll I spent some time "specing" my paladin with pyrokin trees lol.)
The thing is that you are asking for things to be added that simply don't need to be because you don't understand the class. Just because warriors generate threat on single target better than a pally doesn't mean pallys aren't good at it. How many times do you see warriors with a MASSIVE lead? In a lot of cases they don't need that much threat. So that fills the gap between warriors and paladins. Or just have a hunter misdirect you.
I mean, I tanked Kaz'rogal last week because our warrior died on the pull. If you are not familiar with Kaz'rogal, I will give you a brief explanation. Copied from wowheads page on this boss, this his gimmick.
Mark of Kaz'rogal: Drains 600 mana per second from all players for 5 second. Targets without sufficient mana to drain will detonate, dealing 10213-11287 area of effect damage.
He casts it after 60 seconds, then 50 seconds, then 40 30 20 10 until hes pretty much spam casting it. The fight is an all out dps race. Basically you need a tank who can generate enough threat to let the dps start burning from the start. But as a prot pally who pulled aggro simply putting judgement of wisdom up, I did this. I tanked him just fine. One of the mages who usually pulls aggro whispered me afterwards and told me that my threat was phenominal. That is only with 440 spell damage.
Now my threat is one thing. What about the mana drain? That is quite a bit of mana. I was taking enough damage, while uncrushable and uncrittable, to get my mana back after the mana drain.
Not to sound mean or anything, but just because you aren't good at it doesn't mean others aren't.
That was the whole purpose of my 'troll' post. To let you know your asking for things we already have, or simply do not need. Just because we are AOE tanks doesn't mean we can't tank single target mobs... Every boss in mount hyjal is a demon or undead, and A lot of bosses in black temple are the same way.

I don't think anybody has mentioned this which is somewhat surprising.
Ret: Give Ret a CC ability. Maybe make repentance last more than 6 seconds or something. Ret also needs to be able to do more DPS.
Otherwise, I think a few buffs here and there would be nice. If Prot was buffed to the point where we could be on par with Warriors for main tanking bosses, that would be nice. If Blizz is going to give Warriors mechanisms for generating AoE threat, I think it's only fair to give Paladins better single-target threat.
As for Holy, I would rather see an AoE/multi-target heal than a HoT.

I have a crude idea for you healbots...
How about a talent to improve Blessing of Light. Say, something like when you land a heal on a target with improved BoL, other members of that targets party gets healed for X% of landed heal. Or, it chains other raid members with BoL instead of party. The first one would certainly be best for 5-mans. The second one would allow multiple paladins to assist eachother with tank healing. 3 or more paladins in a 25-man raid is nothing unusual nowadays, and having one the paladin buffing DPS with salvation could aswell put Light on all the tanks. That way, two healing paladins would help keep eachother's designated tanks up. Or, keep that ret paladins mana flowing without actually healing him. As I feel holy paladins are primarily tank healers in raids, I'd prefer this second alternative to the more 5-man friendly "heal party" option.
Other than that, we tankadins need something against fear. Silences I can handle, haven't MTed any frequent silencer other than Maiden though, and she ain't a problem.... I can usually even cleanse holy fires on top of it, just as I'm first on cleansing in any encounter. Fears though can really get me mad. For example those felguards in Shadow Labyrinth. Now, I avoid that instance because it's really messing with my tanking, and this is one reason. Nightbane is another sucker unless you can keep fear wards rotating and have tremor totems. Berserker Rage please! Even better would be a version of Beastial Wrath. That'd make me happy.
After seeing other classes talents and discussing them, I think we really gonna need some desperate buffs. I fear we'll be left out though.

Talent: Improved Blessing of Light - 3 ranks
When you critically heal a target with Blessing of Light, 5/10/15% of that amount is healed over the next 10 seconds. This affect cannot occur more than once every 30 seconds.
For example, if you drop a Holy Light on the tank (with Blessing of Light) that crits for 5k, and you are maxed out in this talent, an additional 750 would be healed over the next 10 seconds.
Spell: Crusader's Demand
Crusader's Demand will force any foe attacking a member of the Paladin's party to attack the Paladin instead for 10 seconds. Undead or demonic foes may be dazed by this spell for 5 seconds.
Sort of like Righteous Defense, but non-targetted and with a much longer cooldown - a Challenging Shout for Paladins.
