So, I'd like to have small eagle (like
Imperial Eagle Chick) by my side all the time. However, I don't want to hear his wing flaps, it becomes really annoying after a while.
Question: Is there a way to mute this sound for one specific battle pet w/o disabling it totally?
What I've tried yet.
Specific sound can be altered/muted with placing .OGG file in World of Warcraft\Sound directory. For an example, I've muted Rhonin's speeches from old Dalaran, restored old brunderbuss shots, etc.
Wing flap sounds for most birds and bird-like creatures are stored in Sound\Creature\WingFlaps:
- GiantWingFlap1.ogg
- GiantWingFlap2.ogg
- GiantWingFlap3.ogg
- GiantWingFlap4.ogg
However, altering those files will affect all usage of them in game, including mounts and flight point griffins/wyverns/hippogryfs, etc.
Wowhead sound database shows that all eagles in game are using specific files for wing flaps, or, at least, it can be get with specific name:
MON_Eagle_WingFlap- MON_Eagle_WingFlap_01.ogg
- MON_Eagle_WingFlap_02.ogg
- MON_Eagle_WingFlap_03.ogg
- MON_Eagle_WingFlap_04.ogg
I don't mind to have just all eagles muted, there's not so much of them anyway. But since 2014 or so wowhead don't provide full filepath, so I can't reach those files — or at least I don't know where I should look.
Any suggestions?
