I got duel screen and yes you can do it without software problems.
However can your computer support running two 24" monitors?
24" is quit big and takes up alot of procceser space.
I have a 20" and a 13" (or about that) and I have problems running 2 wows on it.
(15-20 fps in an instance/out of town) and shat is a nightmare. My pc isent the best (2g ram duel core N-vidia 256mb graphics card) but it its not a POS.
Also its might be worth noting that once I was duel screen running myself in a rfd and one of my windows bugged and I had to restart my computer for wow to work. So I dont really advise running duel screen unless you have to.

I think the OP is asking about dual-screening the same account/character, rather than multi-boxing on one box. That would take an insane amount of memory to run smoothly.

I used to run dual screens, but I never figured out a way to do what you're asking. I know, I'd love to be able to put my map and other screens over on the second screen to keep the play UI clean. I use just one 40" HDTV monitor now though. The issue is, the maps, crafting menus, etc have to be on the WoW UI. I suppose that you could stretch the desktop/UI across both screens to give yourself more real estate but that'd be annoying. I don't know what to tell ya... There might be some third party software out there that could accomplish it, but I'd wonder about it's legality of use with WoW.

I assume you could stretch the screen width to both screens and then use one of those "screen shrink" addons to get a black box on one screen?

I just had to comment on this.
Since it was said above a few posts.
The size of your monitor size (19, 21, 23, whaver) will have NOTHING to do with system performance. The resolution you pick, however will.
True, but since the larger monitors require higher resolutions to look good, it's all the same in the end.

just make sure you buy a monitor that supports the same resolution as your first one
I have a 22" widescreen and a 19" CRT which will not do this
however, it works great with one window WOW and another window wowhead
