Hi, I got a chance to frost-tank hydros yesterday, and it went well, he did go down, however I got a question.
The way I ended up, is I had 13k unbuffed and about 450def.
I could also have been 12k unbuffed with 490 def.
The difference is the 2 trinkets I changed (I have MgT and trash SSC stam trinkets, and Hydros's def and SL def trinkets).
Hydros did go down with me at 13k + 450 def.
But in your opinion would 12k + 490 def been better?
I went with stam due to advice from our MT, and also since I realize that 1k stam unbuffed benefits from kings, and passive paladin talents.

You can tank SSC with 13k unbuffed? o.O
I thought that's like a little over the minimum for heroics...

13k + Kings + PW:Fort + GoTW + Commanding Shout + Blood Pact + Food + scroll + pots/flasks... It all adds up when in a 25man. Personally 13k seems a little low for MT'ing any 25 man boss but seemed to be enough for anywherenotes.
Hydros is a big resistance fight. Nature and Frost. Major Protection Potions are advisable as well as some resistance gear over pure defense/avoidance gear. He's an elemental if I'm not mistaken, so most of his damage is spell damage so none of those stats matter over pure HP.
PS. Congrats on downing Hydros. It's a PITA fight if your DPS/Healers don't pay attention.
