Expansive Mind
Intellect is only helpful to a Rogue for increasing weapon skill, not especially useful.
How exactly does intellect help Rogues increasing their weapon skill? :)
Intellect increases the rate of weapon skillups.

Actually, Greennova, I don't agree with that, whatsoever.
When I think of Night Elf, nothing deadly or dark comes to mind. When I think night elf, I see Druid. Thats it.
I suppose it's conflict of ideas, but, realistically, Rogues (yes, rogue, not some form of brownish-red) are as much suited to Night Elf as Warrior is to Gnome.
Night
Elf does NOT refer to the 'darkness' of their ways, but moreso their heritage, and in that, the moon (See moonkin Form.)
If you have, in fact, quested in the Night Elf area, and have read the quest text, you will discover that the Night Elf persona is not one of assasination contracts, or deception. Instead you will discover Night Elves to be a people trying to maintain a balance of nature. -- Of course, there is nothing wrong with Night Elf rogues, I just wanted to point out that your reasons for chosing one seemed off-centered.
Thanks. =)
Umm did you pay attention to any of your quest text at all? It was all about how the night elves were to greedy for power and how the druids created the second tree of life thing (been a long time since i played alliance so memory is a lil fuzzy on the specifics) Which is why the night elves lands are dying. And the Night elf rogue isn't about the darker side of rogue's, it is more about the nobility of the rogue's purpose, than the evil behind the deeds. Very Machiaveilian.

The whole point of the game is to
have fun
. The best race for you is the one you think will be the most fun. To that end, I made a troll rogue and named him Aiztabju (pronounced "eyes-TAB-joo"). Just
try
to tell me that name fits as well with the lore of any other rogue-capable race. I will laugh, and laugh hard.

@Ophius
This guide was written two patches ago, no wonder it's partially incorrect. That's one of the reasons necroing threads is unadvisable
@Multiclasser
The base stats for races matter very little at level 80. What matters more is the actual racial abilities. Which brings us to the second sentence. In a pvp situation Humans will have the upper hand with Perception (increased stealth detection) and of course Every Man for Himself, allowing them to fit an extra DPS trinket.

As of Patch 3.2 The orc Axe specialization racial IS beneficial to rogues, since they can now wield axes.

Ye well, outdated guide is outdated. Kicklucky has quit the game iirc.

I think
Rented
has spent some time updating stickies. If he hasn't covered races, then I can do a write-up during the upcoming weekend.
