Had a warrior tank back in the day (TBC) that was really good. Added him to my firends list and we group a few more times. Soon we were talking on AIM and sharing stories. He grew up and left WoW, but it was fun while it lasted.
I used to gold make with someone who I met on wow and he helped me through and guided me so I learnt how to make alot more money through the professions I used but sadly he quit wow and gave away all his gold not so long ago
Wow has turned a number of IRL acquaintances into friends...helping each other level, running dungeons, and playing together has created shared experiences and brought out friendships that would never have formed otherwise. Thanks wow for giving us a fun way to connect with friends and strangers alike!
I've met people in WoW who I then met IRL, and I've also brought RL friends to WoW!
Met a guildie in WrA years ago who I still talk to regularly, despite having left the guild years ago and barely play WoW these days, it's pretty awesome meeting that kind of person and still being friends all that time later, when years are certainly a very long time in online standards.

I actually met my wife in the World of WarCraft. It seems strange to some, but we developed a strong friendship while playing in a random pug. Granted this wasn't like the LFD tool now where nobody speaks in dungeons, this was back in early classic where you made relationships with the people on your server and you had a reputation to preserve. I was one of the few paladin tanks on our server, and a friend of mine was looking for a tank to go to Scarlet Monastery Cathedral side to finish up a quest line. Fortunately for me, the healer he had recruited for the group was a human priest that I was quite impressed with, and ended up running many more dungeons with. We became friends, and conversed quite a bit over TeamSpeak, until we finally just exchanged contact information. I won't go into the details of the courtship, but we eventually decided to meet in person, date, and have now been very happily married for 8 years. I met the woman of my dreams simply because a gnome rogue needed to kill Whitemane to finish a quest. Thank you Blizzard and World of WarCraft.
Met a healer who for the first time since I started leveling purely by dungeons, could keep up with my ridiculous pulling speed. We decided to partner up and things have been great ever since!
I actually meet my boyfriend in WoW, he was a healer that would run with my old guild in ICC 25. He let me die since was playing Whack A Mole, but totally my fault, but never will never let him forget it. And we ended up talking after that. We finally met last November after 4 years or so, and been together since.
I actually got really close with my best friend in real life through WoW. When we first met, he got me into playing it and we played it for countless hours together lol
I haven't met many people I've played with IRL, but playing WoW has been good for maintaining some real-world relationships. I started playing senior year of college at the behest of a friend of mine who'd been playing for a while, and he got a couple of our other friends to join us. It was fun to play together, and even when we didn't WoW often provided a good means to chat with each other after we'd graduated.I've recently started my PhD, and gotten back into WoW, and one of my classmates has also started playing again recently, providing a nice means to get to know him.
As I was waiting to fight the Sha of Anger, I randomly got chatting with another paladin, who was also an aspiring blacksmith. Since we had to wait awhile for the group to form we began comparing notes on how we played our toons, why we played wow, and many other things. From this began a wonderful friendship. We are still friends and through him I have made many more friends in wow. Many of his guildies. I enjoy wow not just as a game but as a community. Lots of great people and friendships.
I killed someone from my faction for bloody coins on Timeless Isle, but he wasn't whispered on me to complain, just said that was hugh :) and after that i had remorse for she/he, so i helped out her/him, because he was also low geared, and now we're helping each other's in wow aswell as in privacy :)
Met many friends on WoW. iSi!
Welll, i have plent of people on my real id , but hardly any friends. At least i started playng wow in the beginning of my relationship and i think it really strenghted the relation. So maybe i can say i got a girlfriend!

I'm from a small town in TN, and my boyfriend is from a small town in AR. After our relationship started, I picked up WoW (it was around early Wrath) and made a character on his account--a blood elf hunter. After a while, I eventually made my own account with RaF, and one day, at level 80, we were searching for a blacksmith to make my paladin some boots. We finally found another blood elf paladin, named Melvien, from WA, and he gladly made my boots and asked if we'd like to join him for some heroics. Now, almost 4 years later, Melvien is one of the best friends I could ever ask for. We play WoW, and other games like on the PS3. There are nights that we all play together for hours and hours. Not long after I met Melvien, I met his magnificent lady, Zairie. She is my best friend in the world, and I would give anything to be able to go to WA one day, like we always talk about, and live, all four of us, and just be together. Zairie is like the best girl friend I never had in real life, and let's be honest, I love her and Melvien more than some family! I could never imagine my life now, without those two from WA. We now have a guild of our own with some of their co-workers and some of my friends from college. And if they ever read this, Mel, Z, I hope you know that I appreciate everything you've ever done for me, and all the times you've been there for me. You two are amazing, and even though we tell you that you're a fail healer, you're really the best, Mel. And you taught me well. <3
My wife and I played another MMO for years, but started shopping around for an alternative due to a long-standing content drought. A good friend we made in-game suggested WoW, which he's been playing since vanilla. After we made the jump, he's helped both of us learn the ropes, tanked through many a dungeon so our wee little toons could collect gear, and dutifully sacrificed himself on numerous occasions when a boss fight or a challenge tame went horribly, horribly wrong.Good on ya, Astro. You're a good friend and a great guy :)
I met my boyfriend through WoW. We met when I joined his guild, we met up a few times and eventually I moved away from home to live with him! 3 years strong so far! Seeing Catfish now makes us realize how easily one of us could have turned out to be a completely different person lying and leading each other on.
I've made many lasting friendships in WoW, even if I don't really play anymore. We still all keep in touch via facebook now, which is nice.
