I think the point is that they were both idiots. I don't think Rank is defending Garrosh, who he hates, just trying to establish that they were both equally belligerent.

Which is also the point I was making. However, Rank's tone suggests that it's mostly/all Varian's fault.

Even a danish have more brain cells than those two...

Well...
Is a internal conflict in the alliance to much to ask?
And then we can all loot King Chin.

Garrosh charges, Varian makes 1 hit which misses (Pause the video exactly at 2:49 and 2:50, Varian's hit misses by a mile), Garrosh LANDS 3 hits that varian has to block (from 2:51 to 2:54, that's all varian going on the defensive and unable to do anything because he's too busy blocking the flurry of garrosh), and then Rhonin separates them.
Yet you use terms such as "got owned" or "Was beat on his ass" liberally. When in reality neither was able to land a single hit on the other one before the fight was broken off. At least Garrosh was able to attack 3 times. Unlike varian who barely made one hit and then had to go defensive for the rest of the brief fight.
Um, Garrosh dodged Varians hit, he didn't miss. Secondly, Garrosh lands one hit that Varian blocks.
Now, let me ask, why is blocking worse than dodging? Varian obviously has to block Garrosh's attacks because he's using a large sword, whereas Garrosh is dual wielding two (relatively) small axes. Garrosh
needs
to make multiple attacks for his strategy to work, whereas Varian only needs one opening to take Garrosh down with that ridiculously large sword.
It's a logical fallacy, apples to oranges. If a guy with a rocket launcher shoots and misses, obviously he's going to be on the defensive from the guy with two pistols until he can reload and try again.
The point is that Lordplatypus is VERY wrong when he says that Garrosh got owned. Or that Varian effortlessly won. The entire fight lasted less than 5 seconds and neither of them managed to even scratch the other one.
He did more than ask what they were doing there. Garrosh was rude yes (saying he smelled the blood of alliance pigs) but it was Varian who said "you want my blood? come get it dog". That is more than an insult, that's a taunt.
So that's an excuse to attack? Why is one insult worse than the other? The phrasing doesn't matter, both are equally as insultung.
I never said it was an appropriate excuse, nor that garrosh was in the right and varian in the wrong. Both of them were idiots for bringing violence to a peace meeting. I was, once again, debunking the piss poor point of Lordplatypus that varian didn't do anything wrong at all. Garrosh threw an insult, Varian threw a taunt and a provocation to attack.
You know what a taunt is right? A provocation to attack. And this "high king" did this AT A PEACE SUMMIT.
Because obviously the precedent hadn't been set yet or anything...
The alliance also set a precedent of mistrust for the horde, but you didn't see that belligerence from practically anyone in the horde with the sole exception of Garrosh and his hommies.
Rank's tone suggests that it's mostly/all Varian's fault.
Nope. Both of them were equal parts to blame. Varian for taunting the other side, and garrosh for being stupid enough to take the bait. However, as high king, varian really should had known better, and it disproves that he is not an idiot, as that article adamsm linked said. He's made A LOT of screw ups.
Is a internal conflict in the alliance to much to ask?

Nah, all, and I mean ALL of Varian's negative qualities, (every single one of them, the xenophobia, the idiocy, the belligerence, the warmongering, the ass attitude) have been transplanted into Jaina, to make him a more likable figure. Therefore, its Jaina who needs to be taken out with extreme prejudice. Funny enough, something similar happened in the horde, where just about every single negative trait that could be attributed to the horde as a whole was transplanted to Sylvannas and Garrosh. Since we got one of those down, there's only the other one left to go before the house is clean again.

I guess it was a mistake.
I just saw varian knocking garrosh to the side with his sword.
Ok, yes, that makes no sense but It really isn't in garrosh's character to dodge is it?

Hmmm hello? The fight of Garrosh vs Cairne consisted of 95% dodges from him. What? just because orcs are large and muscular doesn't mean they are above dodging. Blademasters, which are the highest and most powerful melee warriors of the horde, also have borderline supernatural dodging abilities. GROM himself had a whooping 40% dodge in the original War3.

/shrug
its not the first time you see what you want to see anyways.
Ok, yes, that makes no sense
Its also not the first time that what you want to see doesn't make sense. So nothing new there.

No blademasters had 40% Crit. It was Demon Hunters who had high dodge.
Illidan removed his shirt for a reason and night elven Sentinels use bikinis for a similar one....
Edit: Blade-masters battle without a shirt and seems like an agility based two handed fighter. Still orcs and humans alike are not best of builds for dexterity. And full plate is not a good idea to use agility based attacks...
Unless you're Maeiv.
