I used to drink raw eggs as well. People used to keep telling me it was disgusting, lol.
That's because it is. Blech. Not to mention a rather quick way to catch salmonella.
Not really, unless you eat thousands of raw eggs. My favorite chef talked about it in one of his many shows. Here is where he talked about it.
AB: You're some kind of food cop, aren't ya?
PA: I'm an epidemiologist. How'd you know?
AB: Yeah, you've got that look. You probably work for some shadowy governmental agency.
PA: Well, the CDC is not really shadowy.
AB: Yeah, okay. So what's with eggs?
PA: A few years ago, salmonella figured out how to get into the chicken's reproductive system.
AB: Ahh, this sounds like some kind twisted conspiracy. Let's talk odds.
PA: We figure that about 1-in-10 to 1-in-20,000 are infected internally with salmonella.
AB: So, basically I run about the same risk of getting sick from properly handled eggs as I would, say, getting bitten by a rabid squirrel in downtown Detroit?
PA: Well, one egg may just contain a few salmonella. But the problem comes when you pool a bunch of infected eggs together. And then if you mishandle the suspect eggs: hold them at temperatures conducive to bacterial growth or undercook them ...
AB: So, we're talking 165 here.
PA: We prefer to say 170 to 175.
AB: That's enough to turn a yolk into a hard little rubber ball. How many outbreaks do you see from home cooking, though?
PA: Well, most of our problems come from food service operations.
AB: So, what's your advice?
PA: Well, we recommend that the elderly, expectant mothers, the very young and anybody that has a problem with their immune system just steer clear of over-easy, home made ice cream, home made hollandaise sauce, eggnog, classic Cesar salad ...
AB: You expect life to still be worth living. Okay. Thanks, doc.

Hmmm, must be down here that is more common. Sanitation is sorta less higher over here, and eating raw eggs carries a higher risk of contracting salmonella. Its the same reason why we can't drink tap water over here. Must be boiled first, or you must install a special filter.

In high school, I don't think I would have considered myself popular, in the high school hierarchical scheme, but I did have a lot of friends who were nerds along with me, so I never lacked for company.
I would say that once I hit college, I got a fresh start and ended up being one of the "popular people" (kind of by accident- I joined a lot of activities looking for stuff to do and kind of just met a whole bunch of the student council, incoming freshmen, etc.). I got an award when I graduated college for being the student graduating that year who had done the most to bridge cultural gaps, and my friends said it was because I held the parties that got the most international students drunk :P
Since then, I have tended to get along pretty well with people wherever I work. I usually end up as an officer in whatever guild I'm in, despite usually not pursuing that, and once was elected the GM against my protests when the prior GM quit. I'm pretty comfortable talking to people in just about any situation.
I guess I'd consider myself popular.

But are you asking popular like in good way or bad way?
Being popular isn't in itself a good or bad thing- it just means a lot of people like you. The reasons WHY they like you may be good or bad, but I don't think that's relevant to the question, unless people are looking to expand upon what it was that they think made them popular.

I was never popular in school or highschool, heck I could count with 1 hand how many friends I had from the moment I started going to school, to the moment I graduated for college. The good part is, that unlike those who had 30+ "friends" in highschool, mine were real true companions, and even after highschool, we stuck together, and to this day, all 3 of us all old, married, and with kids, we STILL hang out and celebrate together and so on. :P
So I got quality over quantity, can't complain.
I was more or less invisible in college though, and didn't really became popular till I discovered the internet HUAR HUAR HUAR!!!!!!!!!
I was very popular in my previous wow server (One of the best tanks in the whole realm), and have been told I'm beloved here =D
So yeah, I'm popular on the interwebz-
And that one totally counts.
Plus, while I don't go out much, and in my previous job I was equally invisible, on the Chef Academy, I'm pretty darned popular, I get along fantastically with every single one of my classmates, and several of the instructors love my cooking, and the way I explain cooking to other students, to the point that I'm being hired by the Academy, and start working there as a Junior Grade Instructor next week.
So the TL;DR Version is: Yes. (seems like all the popularity I never had as a child, or teenager, I'm getting it as an adult xD)

I am not popular. I have never made any effort to be so. I haven't made any effort not to be, but if I have the option of doing something for popularity, and it serves no other purpose, I won't do it. Generally, social circles frown on that.

Much depends on the time of year for me. I like others have said get along with almost all, but am not real popular among some of the social groups I belong to, mainly due to my regular use of sarcasm which many do not catch.
Now when it come to Christmas time, I am very popular among children and parents of young children. I also have fun with my appearance(look at my post in the post your IRL pictures thread.) I get the "Santa I want xxx" on a regular basis and most times look at them and say "You know which list you are on."
I have enjoyed making some young ladies blush with one of my comments to the previous question when they add "I have been good." My response is that there are truly 3 lists that Santa keeps Nice, Naughty and Naughty but niiiice ;)

I consider myself popular among my group of friends that contain of me, me and me.
Which one is your best friend though?

Yeah, I would bet some Countries are like that. I read a list that said Pensacola, the biggest city near us and where I was born, has the worst tap water in the States.
OT: I wouldn't say I was popular in HS, but rather a lot of people knew me. I was friends with football players, band members and cheerleaders. And our class didn't really have a nerdy group, my close group of friends consisted of two football players, two ROTC students and myself who was in band and ROTC. And we all have played WoW and various other games.

Among work colleagues, clients, peers, I'm generally considered a friendly, reasonably well-liked guy. That said, I'm not a guy who people I don't know try to hang out with, so no, I'm not 'popular' in that sense.
And I'm a moderator here. I think that it's incredibly clear that I'm obviously not popular :P
