There are, I'm one of em which is why I don't play on PvP realms.
Saying that though, if you walked past a garden gate with a huge sign on it saying "Guard Dogs, DO NOT ENTER!" and you go in and get mauled, would you blame the owners?
1. PvP realms are duh PvP
2. The ToU sets out everything in black and white, Ganking, Camping etc is fine, if you want to play on the realm then you can expect it.
As always the practical reason behind lowbie ganking has been perverted by people who spend more time crying about the game than playing it.
Ganking is to encourage PvP, You get ganked and camped a couple of times, you log onto your 90, come back and open a can of whoop-ass.
If you don't yet have a 90, Tough, roll with the punches and get to 90 so you can retaliate should future toons on that realm get ganked.

PvP is an integral part of the game; many players prefer it, and PvP realms are there for a reason. A lot of people enjoy the challenge of setting themselves against a human opponent, an opponent that thinks and is doing their best to outplay you.
That being said, I am moderately disturbed by the common theme among the Gank-Defenders' comments.
i.e. - " It encourages PvP by causing you to retaliate" or "It encourages PvP by making players want to support their faction by ganking opposing lowbies like they were ganked.". " It encourages better PvP because the ganked want to get better so they aren't gankable anymore."
This is exactly the same argument used by school yard bullies and worse : " If they don't like it they should have fought back; If they were too weak to fight back, well then they should be stronger. I bear no accountability for my behavior because it is their responsibility to not be weak."
It is a puerile, recursive excuse to attempt to justify awful behavior.
The discussion of ganking a lowbie player is not about PvP, it's a discussion about sad, immature people and their awful behavior towards others.
The only reason to gank or camp a lowbie player is to play the bully. There is no honor to be gained, no world objective to fulfill. You are messing with someone else's game because you can.
These are the players who mammoth-stand on quest-givers and mail boxes. The ones who aggro a group of mobs on Timeless and then kite them into another players AoE. The ones who run in and steal the ore while you kill the mob that was standing on it.
These are the ones who glean their modicum of self-worth from the fact that they can affect another person's game.
These are the players who give PvP a bad name.

This thread must be a demigod or something because no matter how many times it keeps coming back. That being said there is no solution to ganking lowbies.
As long as there are pvp realms, and quests that force a PVP flag, there will be the people who just want to be buttheads to people that aren't able to stand up to them.
I personally feel that if you have to resort to ganking/camping a lowbie it is because you suck as a player and can't beat a player of equal level. And I express that opinion every time this subject comes up, be it in trade, guild, general, here, or any of the other gaming forums I visit.

That's no secret.
Lowbie gankers are just another form of troll, but in a realm where the rules have to be set to allow open combat, they are a necessary evil.
Like I said there is a big warning sign in the ToU. and common sense.
"Wait anyone can kill anyone? I'll be fine I'm sure nobody will bother with me whilst leveling, and even if they do, Queensbury rules must surely apply"

TBH, I was on a PVP realm and I only ganked lowbies if they had really stupid names like Yoloswagqt or crap like that. Normally it was 2 kills, and then i would go about my business.
BTW, whats Queensbury rules?

Perhaps they should make it that when you sign up for a PVP realm you have to go through page after page of warnings of the realities of PVP realms. Each warning has to be re-typed by the player before the sign up is complete, in the vain hope it will sink in.
Hopefully, that would weed out some of the people who shouldn't be on PVP realms, which is the root of the problem.
I personally have never ganked anybody, but I have been on the receiving end (1.5hours continuous being the longest), but I would never complain about it.
Or a short intro video.
Maybe during the cutscene at the creation of a new toon we get to see your new character being brutally cut down by a fully geared 90, then tea-bagged.

Sorry- I was going through a thing. I got rid of all my battletags. Feel free to re-add me, or send me your tag and I will re-add you.

The BEST solution is putting a bounty on the gankers. Can be any kind; gold, honor, rep, whatever.
Agree.
A bounty system would make gameplay more interesting.
I think the EVE online security status system could work quite well.
You could have -5 = Fair game for all players regardless of faction with a gold reward for killing you.
Obviously there will be some kind of Sisyphean task assigned to get rid of the outlaw level.

Blizzard should just reduced a character's gear to a zone appropriate level when it is entered. Kind of like how they handle PVE gear in the BGs.

No the best ganking solution would be to implement a debuff on the ganker if he went after someone more then 10 levels below him; a steady ticking debuff that takes away 10% of all of his stats till it hits zero, actually giving the lowbies a real chance to fight back against these ass hats.
Ganking is not PVP, it's griefing.
I agree, this would makes lving in PVP for new players a lot more far and easier, And since Bliz loves making the game easier for casuals and new players (witch isnt bad all the time) this would be something simple they could add it easily.
For people who say "no that ruins PVP! Howz will I show my mad skillz nub" Go PVP in a higher level area or a BG (shocker I know) ganking low levels isnt pvp is being a greifer.

How would that fix anything?
You'd still have a level 90 with level 90 stats killing lowbies. The only reason he'd need gear in the first place would be if another player the same level as him showed up.

Life isn't fair in the real world, why do people think it should be in PvP realms? Why is there even a discussion about PvP gankers?
If someone chooses to play on a PvP realm
,
any form of ganking, courpse camping, or griefing is socially acceptable
. That's what happens on PvP realms. That's what some PvP'ers love to do. That's life on a PvP server.
Not really; there isn't anything satisfying camping a level 10 when you are a level 90; that's just pathetic.
